The One with the Apartment

All things considered, our first apartment is not too shabby. It may be small, the ceiling may have cracks that look like it's going to cave in, the kitchen sink drips, but all in all I think I will look back on these days and smile. Slowly but surely we've been adding things to make it our own and feel more like "home." A couple months ago I went into my scrapbooking stash and found a bunch of shades of blue cardstock and patterned paper then taped them checkerboard style to the south wall. I woke up the next morning and half of the papers had fallen off...I needed a stronger adhesive. So I pulled out my PVA glue used for bookbinding and re-attached all the papers. It'll be a fun experience taking it all down (hopefully the new tenants will want to keep it?)...

We inherited a two-seater couch from Chris' parents when we first got married. It was very very comfy, but not very good for having company. We saved up for months for a couch from IKEA and once our tax return came we got this red corduroy corner couch. Now we can spread out and relax and everyone who comes over has a comfortable seat.

I'm always on the lookout for things to do to our apartment, or new pieces of art or knick knacks to add more flair. Right now I'm figuring out a way to make these "jungle peas" wall decals. I could purchase them for about $70 but then shipping is like $80 (from Sweden or something). Not worth it. I want to put some strands on the wall above our DVD collection. We'll see if I ever find the time.
