The One with the 10 Hour Saturday

Part of my job at the magazine (AKA Scrapbook Trends/CARDS/Simply Handmade, etc...) is recreating about eight projects for each issue of Simply Handmade. Every other month I gather said projects and head to Robert's (it's a Utah/Idaho craft store similar to Michaels), Archiver's and Jo-Ann's to purchase all of the supplies to recreate them. Today was one of those supply gathering days. At 11:30 we headed out and about 10 hours later I'm ready to start shooting with the photographers.

These are some sneak peaks of the projects I recreated for the August/September issue.
Depending on the complexity of the project, we spend anywhere from a half hour to five hours shooting a single project.More than once I've been "repremanded" because of the state of my hands. What can I say, they're the hands of a messy artist :) That's my hand in the top left picture below. I hope it's up to par!I have a huge box full of projects that I've recreated that I don't know what to do with. I can't sell them because they're not my ideas. I can't display them cuz we ain't got no room. I don't want to give them away because I like them too much. So for now, they'll just sit in my box, gathering chinchilla dust :)
