The One with the Month of Music

Sunday, September 6, 2009

It seems like most of my all-time favorite bands are coming out with new cds this month! Can I get a "hallelujah" for new music!

9.1.09. Chevelle - Sci Fi Crimes. Chevelle is quickly becoming my numero uno favorite band. Right now that title is held strong by Linkin Park but their last CD - Minutes to Midnight - has put quite a damper on my fire for them; granted the CD gets better every time I listen to it, I can't help but skip over Chester's ballads. Blech. Back to Chevelle. Their CDs are consistently good and Sci Fi crimes doesn't disappoint. It rocks my socks off. My favorite song on their new CD is This Circus followed closely by their single Jars.

9.22.09. Three Days Grace - Life Starts NowAgain, a consistently great band. Each CD is just as good, if not better, than the previous one.

9.29.09. Paramore - Brand New EyesParamore! My newest fave! I've listened to their first two CDs about one million times. Each. And Hailey Williams is who I'd like to be for a day so it only makes sense I'm looking forward to their newest release. Gimme gimme gimme!

Also 9.29.09. Breaking Benjamin - Dear Agony
I feel like a broken record saying this, but again, a consistently good band. I heart all their previous CDs.

Last but certainly not least, in fact, most anticipated, is Chester Bennington of Linkin Park's solo album: Dead by Sunrise. Technically doesn't come out til October 13th, but that's close enough to September, no? I'm a little worried it's going to be full of ballads like Minutes to Midnight...but we shall see. If it's more of his old school stuff than I'll be a happy girl. Don't be fooled by my sweet exterior, I'm an angel of rock at heart :)

  2. Well looks like you will be good on tunes for a long time! Yes Roger is home! He got home last weekend yay! Get this tho, they lost his Luggage at the Airport! Go figure this would happen to us. Turns out his Luggage was left in Virginia and we ended up getting it home 2 days later!! At least they found it! But lets just say it wasn't the greeting at the airport for the first time I was expecting...having him in a Customer service office!

  3. Chester Bennington is your most anticipated? No way! Mine is Three Days Grace for sure (since Chevelle is already out).

What are you listening to? ;)

  5. You are so funny with your hard rock. Which reminded me while I was reading, you are going to love LA when it comes to concerts/shows. EVERYONE plays in LA, even if they aren't currently touring. Definitely go to a show at the Palladium. Such a cool venue (and I saw A Perfect Circle and the Deftones there which are pretty rockin!). Some other places you should see a show at are, the Palace, the Roxy, the Whiskey-a-gogo, the Rainbow Room, the Troubadour, the Viper Room, and the Knitting Factory. Half those places are all on the same block on Sunset Blvd. I have such good memories of going to shows at all those places back in the day.

Definitely take advantage of living in LA while you can and see as many shows as possible. You won't regret it.
