The One with Vandalism

Friday, November 6, 2009

I arrived at work today at the usual time of 1:30pm, (thank you so much for letting me borrow your car Bybees, as our blasted car is out of commission at the moment, but that's another story for another day...) walked in, said hello to Nicole the morning receptionist, then I turned 90 degrees and noticed huge scratches on one of the huge front windows of the building. Yikes! Those weren't there when I left at 5:30pm yesterday but they were there at 8:30am when Nicole arrived. The nerve of some people. (Are people just having a bad week this week? After that rude comment I got and now vandalism... Cheer up world! :) Shortly after I took my position at my desk a policeman arrived to file a report. He talked with the owners for awhile then he came inside and took down all (I mean ALL!) of my information except my social security number (which I suppose he could have gotten from my driver's license). Name, age, weight, eye color, hair color, address, cell number, home phone number (ain't got no), driver's license number ("Why is it a Utah license? How long have you lived here?" Uh oh, I thought I was gonna get busted for not changing my driver's license yet...) I'm surprised he didn't ask for my blog URL, haha. I seriously felt like I was in trouble and I didn't do anything I swear!

I didn't take a picture of the full damage, just in case the person who did it reads this (not likely, I know, but better safe than sorry) and recognizes their work. That would be bad. But see those lines across the photo?
Those are the scratches etched deep into the glass.

This isn't the first time I've had to talk to a cop (I've been in a couple of car accidents, my bad), but hopefully it's the last!

  1. Oh, goodness! That's horrible! And sorry you had to talk to the cops. Ick! Now about going to the CA DMV... NOT fun! :-p Try to go in the middle of the day on a rainy Tuesday. :D
