The One with Connect the Dots

I'll be the first to admit it: I have zits. Pimples. Acne. What have you. Ever since we moved to LA in August and I ran out of my magic cream called Duac, my skin has resembled that of a teenager. I'm nearly 25 - this is not okay. I told myself, "Self, if your face doesn't get better in such and such amount of time, do something about it. There is no excuse." Such and such time has long since come and gone and here I sit with so many zits on my face you could play connect the dots. I've had it. So I decided to take advantage of this health insurance that I'm paying for out of my own pocket every month and ventured out by myself to North Hollywood to visit a dermatologist.

I get really anxious when I go new places for the first time. I like familiarity, I like to know where I am at all times. Granted, I do like to travel, but it's a lot easier on my nerves if someone is there with me. Every time I see the LA cityscape my stomach does a little flip flop. I still can't grasp that I live in Los Angeles. Anyways. Luckily my trustee phone has a built in GPS with voice instructions and all (I love you I love you I love you Google) and I made it to my destination safe and sound.

An hour and 15 minutes later, I had a new set of topical creams in my hand and a renewed hope for better looking skin. Crossing my fingers.

On a completely different note. I opened up my internet browser as soon as I got home and saw that Apple has released yet another totally radical gadget. Meet the iPad:

I haven't quite figured out what it is or what it does, but it's by Apple and therefore it must be cool. To buy or not to buy? That is the question.

  1. Oh, I'm so glad you got some new face creams! I hope those work out for you. :-) And I LOVE these photos of LA. I miss palm trees. We have palm trees here too though... in southern Texas. I just have to drive four hours to see them! LOL.

Also, I'm going to have to check out that iPad... is it like an eBook with email? LOL.

  2. With all the medicines out there these days, I truly believe there is no excuse for zits. There.

  3. How amazing is the the ipad?!? Paul and I were drooling over it earlier...our beloved imac is poorly sick at the moment and I miss it so much! Glad you got sorted skincare-wise...I too have acne/zit/breakout issues - and I'm 34!?! No fair but thanks to a specialist clinic in Aberdeen it's under control...most of the time! xxx

  4. First of all, not to buy is the answer.

Second, you talk as if you actually have zits! As if! (Yeah, I said "as if!") You are completely gorgeous!

  6. you have brightened my day with your post about acne! i had bad acne in high school and college and was always on different medications for it. and then i finally did acutane and i looked airbrushed all the time and it was amazing. but then it semi wore off and then i just looked good like a normal person. but my oh my how bad my face looks now. i was prepared for pregnancy making me fat... but not acne ridden! apparently it is just from all the hormones (sounds like puberty huh?) but i just can't get over it. nothing makes me feel uglier and i am so so SO happy that you were able to find something to help clear your skin up. nothing makes me feel prettier than clear skin!

  11. Don't feel bad my dear, I am 39 years old and STILL have HORRIBLE zits all the time! I hate it! but the creams never worked for me! Still trying things, but I am hoping menopause I won't have zits anymore LOL! I even tried Pro-activ, didn't do a thing, made it way worse actually! glad you got cream that works, because NOTHING works for me!

  12. I totally have acne from the 4 hour plane ride from CA. Ugh. My face is gross now.

And I'm still not sold on the iPad, but I've already gotten an email from my husband that said, "I want it."
