The One with the Blue Bayou Restaurant

Disneyland is still super fun, even though I can't go on all the adrenaline-pumping rides.

It's always been a dream of ours to eat at the Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square which you can see at the beginning of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. We thought our 3rd anniversary would be the perfect occasion to dine there. Technically our anniversary is on Saturday the 8th, but our passes don't work on summer Saturdays and Chris has school every other day this week. May 3rd it is!

We got to the park around 9:30am.

First thing's first - we had to go to the Town Hall to get our special anniversary buttons!

#3!

We had a couple hours before our reservation so we walked around and went on some rides and saw baby duckies and beautiful flower arrangements. I love spring.

Over in California Adventure Park we even saw a kitty cat sleeping the day away in the pine needles.

Chris tried to pull the sword out of the stone. No such luck.

Then we headed to the Blue Bayou for lunch! Woot woot!

It was everything we dreamed it would be and more. I loved watching people pass by on the boats and they loved staring right back.

I loved the mood and ambiance and the music.

Not to mention the food was delicious!

We still find new attractions to see and go on, even though we've been to Disneyland at least a dozen times since we've lived here. We went on the train around the park for the first time and wandered through the Sleeping Beauty story all through the castle and we watched the Mr. Lincoln show on Main Street. Here are some pics from the memorabilia in the entrance:

Pretty neato!

We had a very fun day celebrating our third anniversary. Three down, infinity to go!

  1. OMG, those pictures in front of the signs are sad, but when multiplied to the extent you did it's pretty funny. Glad to hear you're still enjoying that park pass!

  3. Oh, I LOVE that collage of photos! HA! Too funny. And yes, sad too. :-( LOL. Okay, they make me giggle! Tee hee.

SO glad you liked the Blue Bayou! SO much fun, I agree! Happy Anniversary!

And I *did* pull the sword out once... in 1987. I'll post pics some time. I wish I knew WHEN it was. I had a certificate, but I think my parents lost it or something. It used to hang in my bedroom when I was a kid. SO fun! Such a special day.

Glad you got to experience new things while you were there! That's always fun! And as always, thanks SO much for sharing your Disney photos and stories!

And how cute is that cat?!?! LOL!

  6. Hi Paige! I stumbled upon your blog a couple months ago and I love it! It's always full of such wonderful crafty inspiration.

I also live in Pasadena and missed out on your last book binding class. Are you planning on having another one?

  8. So glad you are discovering all of the Disney park secret fun things to do while you are preggers. Not many people will go to the Lincoln show cause all the rides are begging to be ridden, but that stuff is super fun!

The train is da bomb! especially on hot days.

So glad you enjoyed the Blue Bayou. Did either of you get the Monte Cristo sandwich? So good.
