Pitlochry, Scotland

On Saturday we had a Highland Experience tour booked from 8am-8pm. We woke up to a beautiful sunshiney day! Gorgeous Edinburgh!

We walked across the street from our airbnb to wait for the double-decker bus to take us into town. Speaking of double-decker buses, this is my favorite video of Jane EVER:
Reminds me of this scene in FRIENDS when Phoebe is trying to teach Joey French (just the first minute or so outta be sufficient):
We got on said double decker bus, the top 'natch, and rode back up to the Royal Mile where we would board our tour bus. Jane was loving the view from up high.
Early morning in Edinburgh.
After finding our tour guide and minibus, we loaded up and headed out. We saw the famous Forth Bridge, a cantilever railway bridge that was built in 1882 and is now designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We also saw construction of a new bridge.
Duuuuuuude this sooooo gives me the heebie jeebies! You couldn't pay me a million bucks to go stand on this unfinished bridge! Gah!
The first stop of our Highlands Tour was the likable and charming town of Pitlochry.
The town is famous for its whisky and hillwalking, two things beloved by Scots.
The town has a population of 2,500 and lines up along its main road with cafes, shops, and hotels.
Adorbs.

The town is set just outside the craggy Highlands among pastoral rolling hills and forests.
Charming storefront.
Ibid.
We stopped for snacks like scones and little trinkets for the kids.
And of course we had to get a family selfie in this darling town. Or at least, our first attempt, but I still like the splash of blue and purply pink flowers.

Our journey continues in Loch Ness! Did we spot Nessie???
