Butterfly Heart Layout by Virginia Walker

Hi everyone! Virginia Walker here! I can't go past a cut file with hearts or butterflies so to have one that combines the two was just perfect! For this layout I used the Butterfly Heart cut file.
Because of the large amount of butterflies I wanted to choose a patterned paper that embodied the bright and bold colors of the entire Pick-Me-Up collection, so naturally I chose Paper 10 with its 2x2 inch patterns - it was perfect for what I wanted to achieve.
I cut the cut file once from white cardstock and then again Paper 10. I used the white cardstock cut file as a base and adhered it to another sheet of Paper 10 then used the butterflies from the Paper 10 cut file to place back into the empty spaces. I folded the full butterflies in the center and adhered just the bodies. For the angled butterflies I glued one wing and left the other dimensional.
I hand cut around the heart leaving a thin border of the patterned paper showing around the edge of the white cardstock. I traced around the heart cut file and then stitched in gold thread the shape of the heart a number of times, then adhered the heart to the background using adhesive foam for dimension.
I matted my photo with two patterned papers from the Pick-Me-Up 6x6 Paper Pad and then added some tone-on-tone embellishing using the Chipboard StickersEphemera Die CutsPuffy StickersStickersRub-Ons, and Washi Tape Book, all from the Pick-Me-Up collection. My title was a little quote I found online and I created this using Mini Thickers and Chipboard Thickers. Lastly I added a few little sprinkles of Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine around the page.
