Truly Grateful Coptic Book & Kits

With every new scrapbook collection I create a coordinating handmade coptic book and kits! Here is the Truly Grateful edition:

Check out my previous coptic books made with my Pink Paislee collections:

I started by painting the wooden 4x6" covers a light pink/purple. I chose half of the patterned papers from Truly Grateful to be showing on the outside and then sandwiched the other 12 patterned papers and white textured cardstock between to create the 12 signatures. I used my new pink Coptic Bookbinding Tool to pierce the holes for sewing.

I sewed the book together using blue embroidery floss, all 6 strands of it. I have an online Bookbinding Class showing exactly how this coptic stitch is done. Once you make one, you won't want to stop! They're so fun and satisfying to create :)

As I was sewing I added a charm to every single stitch. I made custom charms from the Puffy Stickers by adding them with patterned paper, punching a tiny hole through each one, and then fussy cutting them out. I also used the Wooden Buttons and pierced a hole through the enamel part through the button holes. I added sequins from the Mixed Embellishments as well as wood veneer from the Mixed Embellishments. If you can poke a hole through it or there is a loop, it can be used as a charm! Adding bits & baubles to the binding makes it so eclectic and fun.

The book lays flat when opened so it's really easy to write, "art" and journal in. I often get asked if I put anything inside these handmade books and truth be told I have only ever completely filled one: my December Daily 2017. It's probably my favorite handmade book / mini album ever. I've also used them to journal in and used one as a daily gratitude book. They also make great baby sign-in books, wedding sign-in books, bride-to-be books, and more. They're the perfect gifts!

You can also use almost anything for the covers - if you can put holes through the cover, you can use it for the cover! I mostly use wood but I've also used plexiglass, chipboard, chipboard covered with patterned paper and/or pretty fabric, license plates(!), CDs, cassettes, and tiles. Let your imagination go wild and get creative!

Here is everything that is included in the Truly Grateful Coptic Bookbinding Kit & Online Class:
