Coptic Book by Nidia Rubio

Hi friends! It's Nidia Rubio from Scrapamundi and I'm here to share with you my first coptic book made with the Truly Grateful collection. I looked forward to making this book and I knew that this project was the perfect reason to try the Bookbinding Tool Kit by Paige and her online Coptic Bookbinding Class.
This is a planner for a friend of mine. She has many activities over the next few months so I decided to make this planner to help her organize them.

The cover is decorated with the Happiness cut file to remember her how lucky she is when she has problems, stress, or whatever happens in life. I added a butterfly die cut from the Ephemera Die Cuts for simple embellishment.

I chose a palette with pink and purple colors and foil details to compose the inner pages. I mixed different papers from Truly Grateful.

As I was sewing the binding, I chose mixed embellishments to create dangling charms. I used Puffy Stickers, wood veneers from the Mixed EmbellishmentsEpoxy Stickers, and Wooden Buttons.

I really enjoyed the bookbinding process, especially mixing in different embellishments. Normally I scrapbook in my scrap room, enclosed by scrap elements, but this bookbinding process allows, for example, watching TV or something like that in the background. It is perfect, a different way to make scrapbooks!

Getting back to the project... I made it simple with not many details so my friend can fill it however she wants. All of the inner pages are white, wrapped with patterned papers. (I'm trying to get my friends to discover the scrapbook magic and this could be a good idea, hahaha!!!)

I made a vellum pocket inside the cover and decorated it with the Mandala Doily cut file. I tucked in some Journaling Spots into the pocket. Who knows... maybe this beautiful collection will make her enjoy this beautiful hobby?! :)

I hope you are inspired to try making coptic books with Truly Grateful and Paige's cut files!
