Mini Albums with Tags by Amber Mitchell

Sunday, December 6, 2020

Hello crafty friends, Amber Mitchell here! With the holiday season upon us, I thought I'd share a fun and quick mini album project that makes the perfect stocking stuffer. All you need is some beautiful colored paper and embellishments from Go the Scenic Route and the Mini Album Card with Tags cut file from Paige Evans.

These adorable and interactive mini albums are so easy to make! To create these, I started by cutting the Mini Album Card with Tags cut file. I used my Cricut for this and resized the file as a whole to a size that worked for me. Get creative with this - create a larger one, a smaller one, or a teeny tiny one - the possibilities are what makes this so fun!

Once the album base was cut, I moved onto to adding chipboard covers to both the back and front of my albums. This adds durability and longevity to the album itself. I wrapped my mini album covers using patterned papers from the 12x12 Paper Pad. To add texture to the entire project, I machine stitched around the covers, tags, journaling cards, and mats.

With my albums assembled, I moved on to embellishing. To do this, I used a majority of the bits and pieces from Go the Scenic Route. The Chipboard Stickers added fun texture and dimension to the covers of the albums. To make the covers pop even more, I layered up pieces from the Floral Die Cuts behind the chipboard pieces. I also cut two backpacks from Paper 6 to use on two of the covers since these albums are designed to highlight vacations and traveling.

To decorate the smaller areas on the inside of the albums, I used die cuts that I print and cut at home using the digital version of Go the Scenic Route. Using the digital collection allowed me to size down the die cuts to fit perfectly in my albums.

The finishing touch to each album was to add a closure. To create these, I used white elastic thread and threaded a mixture of beads and charms from my stash onto them. The Flower Charms from Bloom Street and the Charms from Go the Scenic Route make these closures bright and colorful.

And with that, these mini albums made with the Mini Album Card with Tags cut file are done and ready for memories! With how quick and easy these are to make (not to mention fun!), they'd make the perfect handmade gift this holiday season!

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! I'll see you next time with another fun project!
