Hi there, Valerie Bisson back on the blog today! I am happy to share a fun graduation scrapbook layout with you featuring Paige’s Wonders collection and two cut files: Sunburst Rays Background and Graduation Cap & Diploma.
I started by cutting the cut files I from white cardstock. Once the cutting was all finished I distressed some of the edges of the Sunburst Rays Background and decided to add white metallic modeling paste to the rays using Paige’s Star Confetti Stencil. Next I choose Paper 1, Paper 14, and Paper 23 for backing the rays. After filling in the sections with the yellow papers I machine stitched all the rays with gold metallic thread and added gold paint splatters on the background. Then onto the other cut file, I backed the cap with black cardstock and the scroll with a pale yellow paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad and the ribbon on the scroll with Paper 13. Then I adhered it near the centre of the sunburst.
Next I layered up my instax photo with black cardstock and several torn pieces of paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad, then added it on top of the grad cap. I love how the sunburst rays and grad cap draw your focus into the photo. I chose several small talk word strip stickers by Tim Holtz that I placed on top of the cap. Next I fussy cut the pink mandala paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad and added two of them along with several flowers from the Floral Die Cuts.
I also embellished with a few sentiment Cardstock Stickers, a butterfly from the 8-Page Sticker Book, and a few pieces from the Chipboard Stickers: two small circles and a tab. For the title I used a combination of the Thickers, Mini Foam Thickers, and some numbers from my stash for the year, then placing the words on an angle along the rays. Some final embellishing included a gold heart from the Puffy Stickers, some enamel dots from my stash, and a little black watercolour paint splatter.
