Boy Cut File 30 of 30: Tools Frame

Saturday, April 30, 2022

The 30th of the 30 Days of Boy Cut Files went out to those who purchased them and here are two layouts created with today's final Tools Frame Cut File!

For my last page in this series (I can't believe it's already come to an end, I've had so much fun sharing a layout every day!) I cut the Tools Frame Cut File from white cardstock and then backed it with papers from my Pick-Me-Up collection. On a dark woodgrain background from the Again and Again collection by Pink Paislee, I splattered white acrylic paint on the four edges. Once dry, I distressed and tore the four edges and backed them with ruler paper from Pick-Me-Up. I added the cut file with foam squares onto the background and then placed two photos of Fox with his blocks tower inside. I made the title with Mini Foam Thickers and embellished with tiny heart, star, and circle stickers also from Pick-Me-Up!

Here is a "show and tell" of all 30 layouts I made for this series:

Design Team Member Audrey Mutschall created this so cute and sweet layout! She says, "For this page I chose the Turn the Page collection to back the majority of the cut file, along with rose gold and silver metallic cardstock on a few of the elements. I wanted the cut file to stand out from the background, so I used a dark woodgrain paper which I distressed by tearing and adding white acrylic paint splatters. I made a title using the Paige Font, which is a really awesome font because you can add colored paper behind it, customizes to your liking! I also added a subtitle to the speech bubble by my photo using the Label Maker Font, also created by Paige. To finish the layout I added a few actual washers, finishing nails, and eyelet screws from my husband’s tool box for a little extra fun!"

Boy Cut File 29 of 30: My Guy

Friday, April 29, 2022

The 29th of the 30 Days of Boy Cut Files went out to those who purchased them and here are two layouts created with today's My Guy Cut File!

For my page today I cut the My Guy Cut File from white cardstock and the backing pieces with stitching holes from colorful and bright papers found in my Go the Scenic Route collection. I chain stitched through all the letters and stars using coordinating colors of thread and then glued them onto the back of the cut file. I added the title onto the colorful swatch paper and then embellished tone-on-tone with various stickers from Go the Scenic Route. I tucked two photos of me and Fox above the title and wrote a bit of journaling with a blue pen on the right side.

Design Team Member Ashley Neu created this eye-catching layout! She says, "I used a past collection of Paige’s called Bloom Street to create this dimensional title and floral clusters! I added a patterned paper frame to the layout as well as some Pops of Color drops from Scrapbook.com. I love this layout so much!"

Thursday, April 28, 2022

The 28th of the 30 Days of Boy Cut Files went out to those who purchased them and here are two layouts created with today's Triangles Background Cut File!

For my page today I cut the Triangles Background Cut File from white cardstock and then backed most of the triangles with papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad in my Bungalow Lane collection. I also backed two of the triangles with photos to incorporate them into the overall design. I made the title with Thickers and then I embellished mostly tone-on-tone with Foam Phrase StickersCardstock StickersChipboard Stickers, pieces from the 8-Page Sticker Book, a Layered Banner Sticker, and Embossed Puffy Stickers! I'm so glad to have these special photos of Fox scrapbooked!

Design Team Member Jackie Ashton created this fantastic layout! She says, "For my page I cut the Triangles Background from from Paper 10 from the Bungalow Lane 12x12 Paper Pad. Then I backed a few of the triangles with patterned papers from 12x12 Paper Pad and the 6x8 Paper PadI added a journaling card from the Ephemera Die CutsTo finish my layout I add a few Floral Die CutsFoam Phrase Stickers, and pieces from the 8-Page Sticker BookThanks so much for stopping by, have a great day!"

Boy Cut File 27 of 30: Tire Tracks

Wednesday, April 27, 2022

The 27th of the 30 Days of Boy Cut Files went out to those who purchased them and here are two layouts created with today's Tire Tracks Cut File!

For my page today I cut the Tire Tracks Cut File from white cardstock as well as from dark gray cardstock. I used spray adhesive to attached the white tire tracks onto a gray patterned paper from my very first collection called Fancy Free which actually reminds me of tire tracks! I then covered the background with white gesso which with the cut files underneath created a really cool texture. I added Pastel Dreams watercolors, splattered white acrylic paint, and black watercolors from the Vintage Pastels set on top. Once dry, I machine stitched with matching colors of thread through the background. Then I added the dark gray tire tracks at the bottom. To finish I added photos and embellishments from Fancy Free on the upper section!

Design Team Member Jennifer Rambert created this wonderful mixed media layout! She says, "For this page I used the Tire Tracks Cut File and the Wonders collection. To begin, I cut the design from white cardstock to use as a stencil. I coated another piece of white cardstock with clear gesso and then made a large area in the center of the page and two smaller ones at the top and bottom of the page with blue ink. On top of that I added the stencils and scraped modeling paste through. I added ThickersCardstock Stickers, pieces from the 8-Page Sticker BookEphemera Die Cuts, and more, all from the Wonders collection. I hope this page has inspired you in some way today!"

Boy Cut File 26 of 30: Not Today

Tuesday, April 26, 2022

The 26th of the 30 Days of Boy Cut Files went out to those who purchased them and here are two layouts created with today's Not Today Cut File!

For my page today, I cut the Not Today Cut File from white cardstock and then cut the inner pieces from orange, yellow, green, and blue papers in my new Splendid collection! I added the cut file onto the green B-side of Paper 19 then placed the backing pieces on top (instead of on the back), attaching them in place with foam squares for dimension. A photo of Fox and Joey the dog sleeping in fills the "O" and I embellished with all kinds of embellishments from Splendid including Epoxy StickersCardstock StickersChipboard Stickers, bits from the 8-Page Sticker BookEphemera Die Cuts, and a couple Heart Paper Clips stapled in place. In empty spaces I added white enamel dots for interest and fun!

Design Team Member Audrey Mutschall created this so so so cute layout! She says, "As soon as I saw this Not Today Cut File I knew I wanted to use photos from my son’s first birthday cake smash since he was not impressed with the experience! He was so upset about the mess he created that most of the photos show him crying. Since my layout is birthday-themed and I wanted it to look festive, I created rosettes. I chose turquoise, yellow, and blue patterned papers from a variety of collections including Bungalow LaneTurn the PagePick-Me-UpOh My Heart, and Fancy Free. I backed the cut file with these patterned papers and also made rosettes with them. I cut strips of paper in various widths, ranging from 0.5 inches to 3 inches, scored the length of each strip every 0.25 inches, accordion folded them, and glued the ends together. I arranged the rosettes diagonally across the page and added the cut file on top of the largest rosette which measures 6 inches in diameter. After adding my round photos I embellished the layout with stars and sentiments from Turn the Page and Chipboard Stickers from Bungalow LaneI hope this inspires you to create a project with this cut file - it’s an awesome design for scrapbooking all those photos of 'perfectly imperfect' moments in our lives!"

Boy Cut File 25 of 30: Gameboy

Monday, April 25, 2022

The 25th of the 30 Days of Boy Cut Files went out to those who purchased them and here are three layouts created with today's Gameboy Cut File!

For my page today featuring the Gameboy Cut File I cut it from white cardstock and then backed it with solid colors of cardstock. On a gray cardstock background, I painted black stripes and splashed white acrylic paint and black watercolors from the Vintage Pastels set on top. I added machine stitching details, strips of star washi tape, and hand drawn stars made with a white pen all across the background. Then I added the backed cut file at a slight angle with foam squares and a strip of three photos of Fox playing his Switch at an opposite angle on the left side. I typed, printed, trimmed, and glued journaling strips inside the Gameboy to finish!

Design Team Member Lisa Fonseca created this nostalgic layout! She says, "How cool is the Gameboy Cut File? My boyfriend had to play model for this layout because I needed a photo with him playing Gameboy, haha! I used the Bungalow Lane collection to embellish. I think this collection is perfect to create boyish layouts because it has a lot of blues, greens, reds, and yellows. I backed the cut file using gray cardstock and I created a lot of Tetris pieces for which I mainly used the patterned paper with all the different squares - Paper 20. I created a background using watercolors and then I attached the cut file and photo, embellishing with the little Tetris pieces."

Design Team Member Audrey Mutschall created this ultra cute layout! She says, "For this page I made the Gameboy Cut File slightly smaller, cut it out of white cardstock, and then made an offset from black cardstock. I backed the cut file with a variety of patterned papers from the Color Study collection by Vicki Boutin and used the star patterned paper for my background. I wanted to make speech bubbles with phrases from video games, so I used Paige’s Speech Bubble Background Cut File to do this. I typed phrases in a variety of fonts and printed them onto a sheet of white cardstock, then used the speech bubbles from the cut file to trace around the phrases and cut them out. I also added black offsets behind the speech bubbles to give them more dimension. After arranging the cut file and speech bubbles onto the background, I added a title, journaling, cardstock stickers, and chipboard stickers as embellishments. This was a really fun layout to put together and I hope it inspires you!"

Boy Cut File 24 of 30: Circuit Board Frame

Sunday, April 24, 2022

The 24th of the 30 Days of Boy Cut Files went out to those who purchased them and here are two layouts created with today's Circuit Board Frame Cut File!

For this page I used the stitching option of the Circuit Board Frame Cut File and cut the holes through a cream cardstock background. I chose 16 colors of thread and backstitched through the design. I'd say it took about 8 hours to stitch and I brought it with me when we flew to Seattle for Spring Break to work on during the flights and down time! I added a photo of Fox at the Minecraft office in the center and then embellished very minimally with coordinating colors of enamel dots. I wrote journaling with a blue pen on the top left corner and stamped the date below!

Design Team Member Jennifer Rambert created this stunning layout! She says, "I used the Circuit Board Frame Cut File and the Go the Scenic Route collection to make this page! I cut the design from white cardstock then coated it with clear gesso to add orange and blue Distress Oxides inks and create a colorful background. I wanted intense colors to bring out the cut file that I then glue on this area but I only glued the center of the cut file so that the rest can lift and create movement. I added my photo to the center of my page after adding pieces of blue/yellow patterned papers from the collection and orange tickets. I finished by adding the title 'Connected Generation' made with Puffy Word Stickers. To finish I splashed white acrylic paint everywhere to harmonize everything. I hope this page has inspired you in some way today!"

Boy Cut File 23 of 30: Rafting

Saturday, April 23, 2022

The 23rd of the 30 Days of Boy Cut Files went out to those who purchased them and here are two layouts created with today's Rafting Cut File!

For my page today I cut the Rafting Cut File from white cardstock and then backed it with papers from my Wonders collection! Fox hasn't ever been rafting, but we've been on boat rides at Disneyland, so I used those photos to complete this "faux" rafting layout :) I embellished with Thickers from Bungalow Lane and three clusters of embellishments made from a bunch of different types of stickers, all from Wonders. I finished up the page with lots of clear and white enamel dots to go along with the water theme!

Design Team Member Kelly Daye created this fun and colorful layout! She says, "Having lived at a lake for 25 years, I consider myself a bit of a rafting pro. My kind of rafting is 5 feet from shore, within reach of snacks, cold drinks, and the kiddos playing on the beach. Today I designed with Paige’s pretty, pastel Bloom Street collection and her Dot Scallop Background Cut FilePaper 22 with a kaleidoscope of colors was perfect beneath it. It reminded me of the lake on a soft summer day. I used pink cardstock to cut out the cut file. I used the 6x8 Paper Pad for the letters and Oh My Heart puffy stickers to add ‘the good life’. Both are available in digital! Whether you’re a casual rafter like me or prefer wild river adventures, you’ll have fun with today’s cut file!"

Boy Cut File 22 of 30: Sound Bars

Friday, April 22, 2022

The 22nd of the 30 Days of Boy Cut Files went out to those who purchased them and here are two layouts created with today's Sound Bars Cut File!

For this page I cut the Sound Bars Cut File from white cardstock and used spray adhesive to attach them onto a black cardstock background. I splattered white acrylic paintgold paintPastel Dreams and Tropicals watercolors all across the background and let it dry. I added two photos of Fox composing his own music on opposite corners of the layout and used colorful Thickers from my stash for the title. Next I trimmed the background to 11" square and then matted it with a rainbow sunburst paper from Horizon. To finish, I added a rainbow of enamel dots all across the background and wrote journaling at the bottom with a white pen.

Design Team Member Valerie Bisson created this adorable layout! She says, "For my page I used pieces from Go the Scenic RouteHorizon, and my stash. First I cut out the Sound Bars from white cardstock and a second time from gray cardstock to layer and give it a shadow. After adhering the cut files to the page I added paint splatters in pink, gray, and black. Next I made two clusters on the page in opposite corners creating a diagonal design. The top cluster includes photos, stickers, washi tape, and a subtitle, and the bottom cluster has the title, a photo, some stickers, and die cuts all layered up in an eye catching way - all on top of this cute pink cloud paper! A few enamel dots sprinkled with each of the clusters finished the page."

Boy Cut File 21 of 30: Expressions

Thursday, April 21, 2022

The 21st of the 30 Days of Boy Cut Files went out to those who purchased them and here are two layouts created with today's Expressions Cut File!

For my page today I cut the Expressions Cut File from white cardstock and cut the inner pieces from papers in the Indigo & Ivy collection by Pink Paislee. I added the cut file onto a mint striped background and then adhered the inner pieces on top with foam squares for dimension. I added three small, round photos of Fox being silly in the snow on the page and embellished with sentiment stickers at different orientations to match the wonkiness of the cut file. To finish I wrote journaling with a black pen down the right edge of the layout.

Design Team Member Lisa Fonseca created this super awesome layout! She says, "To scrap a photo of me and my brother, I used the Expressions Cut File. I wanted to use boyish colors and went for red, yellow, grays, and blues. I kept the inner parts of the letters and painted them with watercolors. I let them dry and then I 'puzzled' them back into the holes of the cut file after I adhered it to a patterned paper from Bungalow Lane. I matted my photo on some scraps of paper and then used star Embossed Puffy Stickers and a few stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book to embellish a bit."

Boy Cut File 20 of 30: Gaming Desk

Wednesday, April 20, 2022

The 20th of the 30 Days of Boy Cut Files went out to those who purchased them and here are two layouts created with today's Gaming Desk Cut File!

For my page today I cut the Gaming Desk Cut File from white cardstock and backed it with papers from The Avenue collection by Jen Hadfield and backed the two monitors with photos of Fox. I cut an offset for the cut file from black cardstock before attaching it onto a blue plaid paper. I did some wonky machine stitching as a border around the page and added die cuts, stickers, and paperclips all from The Avenue collection!

Design Team Member Kelly Daye created this artistic layout! She says, "I’ve used today's Gaming Desk Cut File to scrap about Jim working from home. Jim’s company set him up a ‘work from home’ desk 770 days ago. It’s actually been so nice to have these days together. I laughed so hard one day when he was all business from the waist up but wearing slippers and sweats to Zoom into work. The kitties and I will really miss him when it’s time to return to the office. It’s been a big breath of fresh air and so I designed what, in my mind, that looks like. Bright sunshine via Paige’s Sun Cut File, fluffy colorful clouds via the Clouds Background Cut File, and the Sunburst Rays Background Cut File. I saved bits of Paige’s past collections to paper-backe it all. A package of Pick-Me-Up puffy stickers provided the embellishments. I finished everything with hand stitching!"
