Leaf Layout by Jennifer Rambert

Thursday, September 29, 2022

Hello creative friends! Jennifer Rambert here with a new layout featuring Paige's new & gorgeous Garden Shoppe collection and her Large Leaf Cut File. I was eager to use this collection which is really perfect at this time of year!

I started by cutting out the Large Leaf from watercolor paper so I could paint the leaf with pink/orange/red and gold inks. I then glued the leaf to the center of my page with foam to bring dimension. I made big ink stains around the leaf. For the decorations I used mainly Floral Die Cuts, my guilty pleasure, and the flowers in this collection are really superb! I placed my children's picture in the center of the leaf slightly to the right and surrounded it with Floral Die Cuts and floral Cardstock Stickers. On the photo I also added flowers as well as the title "Smile" from the Foam Phrase Stickers. I cut out a few yellow phrases from the 6x8 Paper Pad that I placed on either side of the photo, on the flowers, and the title. I also added sentiment stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book. A few leaves, copper hearts from the Foam Phrase Stickers, and splashes of white gesso completes this page!

I hope you liked this layout and can be inspired for a future project! This page is really what I expected. An autumnal and flowery page full of sweetness. Thank you for stopping by, I wish you a great creative day!

Let it Grow Layout by Heidi Lewis

Tuesday, September 27, 2022

Hi friends! Heidi Lewis here on the blog and I'm really excited to share my first Garden Shoppe layout paired with Paige's cut files today!
Whenever I need scrappy inspiration, I always turn to Pinterest. Today's layout was inspired by this fun & quirky beard illustration:
To recreate this illustration, I started with the Caps Cut File, which is part of the 30 Boy Cut Files Bundle. I backed the cut file with Paper 3Paper 4Paper 15Paper 19Paper 20Paper 22 and I used Paper 14 for the background. I wanted to utilize a minimal color palette like the original inspiration. Next, I made my own beard by arranging black cardstock leaves made with Paige's Leaves Cut File into a beard shape. I love the texture the leaves give to the beard! I printed a 3x4 photo of my husband holding our kitty Zeus. I layered embellishments from the Ephemera Die CutsFloral Die CutsCardstock Stickers, and 8-Page Sticker Book around my photo. I love using ephemera or stickers to cover up unsightly parts of my photo. The I-love-you sticker is hiding a ceiling fan lol. The main title was created with the Thickers and an Ephemera Die Cut. You know I can’t resist a good beard pun! I finished off the layout with a tear at the bottom of the page to balance the busy photo and embellishment cluster at the top.
Thanks for stopping by the blog! I hope you feel inspired by this layout!

Catterpillar Layout by Audrey Mutschall

Monday, September 26, 2022

Hi everyone! Audrey Mutschall here with a new layout featuring Paige’s cut files and the beautiful Bloom Street collection. This layout uses two cut files: the Sunburst Rays Background and the Caterpillar. The inspiration for this page came from a play doh caterpillar that my daughter created. I love scrapbooking the little moments that happen every day. I’ve come to realize that my kids’ interests change very quickly, so I love capturing and documenting their current hobbies and activities. I snapped a few photos of my girl and her caterpillar and was excited to make a layout using Paige’s adorable Caterpillar Cut File.

I started by cutting the Sunburst Rays Background out of white cardstock and removed the bottom section to allow the design to flow into the rest of the layout. I used watercolors to paint a yellow/peach/pink background onto another sheet of white cardstock and placed my white sunburst on top. I stitched along the seams in shades of pink and peach embroidery floss for added texture and definition. I then placed the completed sunburst onto Paper 10 from the Bloom Street Digital Collection and stitched the outer rays (where they meet up with the background). The Caterpillar was also cut from white cardstock and backed in a variety of patterned papers from the Bloom Street Digital Collection. I added a strip of Paper 4 at the bottom of the layout and added hand stitching along the seam in variegated green embroidery floss. My photos are mounted onto a journaling card from the ephemera pack and I added a title using a Foam Phrase Sticker from the Bungalow Lane collection and some sentiments from Paper 13 of Bloom Street. Lastly, I added some hand cut clouds with stitching and a few fussy cut butterflies.

I hope this inspires you to try combining cut files when making a layout! Have a wonderful day!

Rainbow Mini Album by Paige Evans

Sunday, September 25, 2022

Yesterday I taught a Rainbow Mini Album Virtual Class and it's available online HERE!

A cutting machine is required to create the rainbow base but if you don't have one reach out to me and I can cut you one. A sewing machine is not required, I just love to add that texture :)

I use a mix of collections to create this project, namely supplies from my Wonders and Pick-Me-Up lines as well as bits and pieces from Dear Lizzy, Vicki Boutin, Amy Tangerine, Jen Hadfield, and more!

This Rainbow Mini Album features lots of texture, lots of color (naturally, it is a rainbow afterall hehe!), and 10 photos from highlights of our August 2022 - all held together with a loose leaf binder ring through an eyelet. So fun!
A PDF with a list of supplies, photo sizes, templates, instructions, and the link to the YouTube video is emailed upon purchase.
Here are pictures of all the pages in this Rainbow Mini Album. Let me know if you have any questions about anything!
I hope you are inspired to check out my Rainbow Mini Album Virtual Class!

Envelope Leaves Layout by Ashley Neu

Friday, September 23, 2022

Hi friends! Ashley Neu back for the Paige Evans Cut File Design Team! Today I am sharing a layout using Paige’s brand new collection, Garden Shoppe. Paige has knocked it out of the park again with this amazing fall collection and I just couldn’t wait to create with it! I chose to use Paige’s Envelope Leaves Cut File to document a photo of my youngest from almost 8 years ago - time to get it scrapped!

First, I grabbed the 12x12 Paper Pad and backed the envelope and leaves. I wanted the leaves to be bright and fallish and the envelope as a more solid color. To tuck my photo into the envelope, I used an X-Acto knife to cut along the “V” in the envelope and adhered my photo inside. Using a white gel pen, I created some stitching lines on the outside of the envelope. This is a simple way to add stitching when you’re not in the mood to break out the needle and thread! After adhering the cut file to Paper 11, I worked on the title. I used the 8-Page Sticker Book as well as the Phrase Stickers to create a cluster at the bottom right-hand side of the envelope. From the Cardstock Stickers, I tucked in leaves to help fill in the cluster. To finish up the layout, I added a hummingbird from the Cardstock Stickers and 8-Page Sticker Book around the leaves and flowers. I created a floral and leaves cluster at the top of my photo to help draw your eye to the photo. Lastly, I added the copper-foiled foam hearts included in the Phrase Stickers in 3 spots to create a nice visual triangle around the layout. I wanted to create more interest on the background so I used a border punch from my stash and punched the left side of my layout. I tucked in a piece of Paper 17 to finish off the part I punched off. This gives some nice texture to a flat background!

That’s all for me today! I hope you get the chance to get your hands on the new Garden Shoppe collection! It’s worth every penny! Thank you for being here and have a wonderful day!

Floral Wreath Layout by Amber Mitchell

Thursday, September 22, 2022

Hello crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on Paige's blog today to share with you a layout that I created using the Splendid collection and watercolors. This was my first time using both the Splendid collection and mixed media to create a layout. It was a bit nerve-wracking but so fulfilling once I completed the project and I'm so excited to be sharing it today!

The first step in creating this layout was to fussy cut the wreath from Paper 7. I used a pair of sharp scissors and took my time doing this; it doesn't have to be perfect but the cleaner the cut the better the wreath blends into the background. To create the mixed media background for this layout, I took a sheet of white cardstock and roughly outlined the circumference of the wreath using a pencil. I then added a layer of gesso around this traced circle using a wide, rough bristled paintbrush. Once the gesso had dried, I used watercolors to create a splattered background in coordinating colors to the wreath. To do this, I took a small sheet of plastic and painted on top of it. Once it was both opaque and watery enough, I flipped it over onto the paper and pressed down to create a large splatter. I did this in the colors, green, dark green, blue, pink, orange, and yellow. I continued this process all the way around the circle. To add more texture, I used more gesso and a stencil to add a few white flowers on top of the paint. Most of these were covered up by the wreath itself, but I love seeing bits of them peeking through here and there.
To finish off the background, I used a paintbrush to add even more, smaller splatters around the outside edges. I did this again using white and gold acrylic paint to break up the mix of colors as well. I mounted the wreath onto the background using foam tape. For extra texture, I machine stitched around the wreath itself. I chose to document a photo of my nephew from a few years ago. I love how the green of his shirt and the trees in the photo highlight the greens in the wreath and the background. I added the photo to the left-hand side of the wreath and then embellished all around it using fun pieces from the Splendid collection. I fussy cut butterflies from the 12x12 Paper Pad and spaced those out across the layout, layering one of them on top of a few flowers from the Floral Die Cuts. I added a few Chipboard Stickers to add dimension and then added a title from the Epoxy Stickers. To finish off the photo cluster, I added a clip from the Heart Paper Clips. The final touch to this layout was adding a few dimensional flowers. I cut these from an orange patterned paper from the 12x12 Paper Pad using Paige's Layered Flowers Cut Files. I also cut a few Rolled Flower Cut Files from a yellow patterned paper to add next to the larger flowers. I then used a leaf punch from my stash to finish off these little flower clusters and adhered them evenly around the wreath.

I LOVE how this layout turned out! It was my first time really working with mixed media and it came out better than I could have expected. Thanks so much for stopping by my post today. I'll see you next time with another fun project!

Stitched Hearts Layout by Yui Oku

Wednesday, September 21, 2022

Hi everyone! Yui Oku here today with a new layout featuring Paige's Splendid collection and Hearts Background Cut File.

I had my machine draw the Hearts Background Cut File onto a smooth white cardstock background, pierced holes, then hand stitched with a rainbow of threads. I put a photo in the center and made a heart around the photo with Floral Die Cuts and Flower Sequins. For the title, I cut out "XO" from Paper 14.

I hope you love this layout, thanks for stopping by!

Senior Year Layout by Valerie Bisson

Tuesday, September 20, 2022

Hi friends! Valerie Bisson here and I am so happy to share my project with you today using Paige's cut files and her Splendid & Bungalow Lane collections. I used 2 cut files for my scrapbook layout: the Sunflower Half and Sunflower.

I started with white cardstock for the cut files and my background. With Distress Oxides and Paige’s Flowers Stencil I created a framing for all the elements to sit. Next I added pieces of Paper 12 and Paper 20 with a torn edge layered with my photo. I backed the cut files with various patterned papers from Bungalow Lane and added them to my page. Then I decided I wanted to add journaling, for this I used a tag from Paper 22 and tucked it behind my photo which you can pull out to read. All that was left to do was some embellishing. I fussy cut butterflies, hand stitched on some Heart Paper Clips, and added pearls. Lastly, my title was done with Thickers from the Bungalow Lane collection which coordinated nicely.

That completes my layout and I hope you’re inspired to document someone special today!

Easter Bunny Layout by Phil Donahue

Monday, September 19, 2022

Hi crafty friends! Phil Donahue back on Paige's blog today! You've heard about Christmas in July but how about Easter in September? I'm so happy to be back on Paige's blog with a new layout featuring her Easter Bunny Cut File and beautiful papers from the Splendid collection! This project documents my niece and her not-so-happy experience meeting the Easter Bunny for the first time.

I used the vibrant pink Paper 8 to cut out the Easter Bunny Cut File then backed the face and outer ears with white cardstock and Paper 2 to back the inner ears. I used the small floral pattern from Paper 12 as the main background with torn strips of pastel yellow, pinks, and blue from the collection in the center of the page to anchor all the elements. Many elements of the layout were bright and cheery so to balance that (and reflect my niece's reaction to the Easter Bunny) I embellished with fussy cut flowers from the black and white floral Paper 13 (my favorite in the collection) around the photo. I wanted to repeat the black and white floral around the page so I tore edges of the background in three corners then backed with the black and white floral to peek through. I added bright yellow enamel dots around various embellishment clusters. Lastly, I used the colorful mini foam Thickers for my punny, bunny title!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you found some inspiration from this post!
