The One with Trunk-or-Treat 2012

So many Halloweeny posts lately - life can't get much better :)

Saturday was our annual ward Trunk-or-Treat. (Def: When people gather and park their cars in the church parking lot, open their trunks, and decorate them. Then they pass out candy from their trunks. This event provides a safe family environment for trick-or-treaters.)
We dressed Jane up like a little witch.


Fox was Buzz!

We got there about a half hour before the trunk-or-treating began to decorate our car. Everything is still leftover from Fox's 1st Halloween birthday party; definitely getting my $$ worth out of those decorations!

Meanwhile Chris took Fox around to gather candy.

Jane was a good baby like she always is, perfectly content in her carseat stroller!

The One with Jane at 3 Months

Baby Jane is 3 months new today! 

Length: 23.5" (25-50%) 

Weight: 13 pounds 7 ounces (50-75%) 

Head circumference: 16" (50%)

Jane is such a content, chill, relaxed, happy, good-natured, easy breezy baby. I count my blessings every day!

When she's not sleeping she sits in her swing or in her bumbo or in the crook of my arm and she's happy as a clam.

Her sleeping habits are about the same as last month. She goes to sleep around 7pm, wakes up between 2am-3am to eat, sleeps until about 6:30am, and then is up for a couple of hours before going back to sleep on and off for the rest of the day.

She doesn't sleep in her crib in Fox's room. Don't know if I've ever mentioned that before. Fox is such a light sleeper so until Jane sleeps through the night we'll keep her out in the living room in her swing or bouncer or between us on our bed in a little baby box.

Her eyes are still blue/gray!

I love taking her out and about; she's my little sidekick.

She got some shots at her 2 month check up and for the rest of the day she was not a happy camper and whimpered and whined so sadly. It broke my heart! Shots are the worst.

Luckily, she was back to her happy little self the next morning!

It is so easy to get her to smile - one of my favorite things about her! All you have to do is look at her and show your pearly whites and she'll flash you the biggest toothless grin.

Boy oh boy (or should I say girl oh girl?) she still LOOOOVES looking at herself. 

I finally caught her cooing at herself on camera:

Her big brother Fox ignores her completely. I guess that's better than having him be really mean to her. One day they'll be friends :)

I've loved dressing her up in Halloweenish things.

She has her Daddy wrapped around her miniature finger, that's for sure. Daddy's little princess!

If her pacifier isn't in her mouth, her hand is. She drools like there's no tomorrow! I need to start finding some cute bibs because she drenches through a few pairs of onesies every day.

She still fits in all of her 0-3 month clothes. She even fits into some 3-6 month items, but has outgrown her few newborn outfits. Her feet don't fit any of her 0-3 month shoes though, what's up with that?

She's given us a few legitimate laughs - it's the best sound in the world. Mostly by laughing in her face and she repeats a laugh back. So precious. Trying to catch it on camera for next month's update.

Jane - I love you so much! When I hold you I just want to smother you with kisses and hugs and I'm so glad you're mine all mine and I get to watch you grow and be your mommy!

The One with the All Hallow's Eve Dance Party

Halloween party?

Yes please!

I had big plans for making costumes of the century, but of course I ran out of time so instead I went to Target and got Chris a pumpkin shirt and got myself a shirt that said "I don't do costumes." However, when I tried the shirt on at home it was too small so I had to think of something else, stat! I decided to go with a "hippie" theme and bedazzled myself in bright florals, jewelry, a headband, and I even die cut a heart-shaped peace sign from gold cardstock. See, I did put in a li'l effort!

This was our first time leaving the kids with a babysitter. Even though the party started at 7 we decided to go at 8 so that both babies would be asleep and make for an easy night. And we were off to the Dead Rose Cottage - creepy!

I've been pretty good about cutting back on candy. But baked goods are a whole different story... Who can resist pumpkin cookies?!

It was fun to see everyone's costumes.

The music was blaring thanks to our resident DJ who's in our ward.


I really don't dance, it's quite frightening if I try, so I opted to be the photographer and watch everyone party hardy.

Eventually we played a game of Limbo!



Veronica won - even in her "fragile" state! So excited for her and her growing family!

There was a BYU basketball game on so lots of the guys sneakily crept into the living room to watch. Pretty sure this move was instigated by my hubby... See, look how guilty he looks...

Then we sang a few rounds of karaoke. And then the cops came and shut us down. Ha. Apparently our music was too loud. I'm 2 for 2 for parties being torched by cops. We're such a crazy bunch :)


Good times, lots of laughs, memories made!
