Welcome back to the blog! It's Kim Jeffress here today! You are probably joining me because you are a Memory Keeper, Story Teller, or Scrapbooker! That’s why we do what we do right? Well when I saw the new Floral Books Stacked cut file I immediately knew I wanted to create a layout about me being my family’s Story Teller, so the cut file was just perfect. Let me share more about my layout.
I began with the Turn the Page Paper 08 as my base and then added a smaller piece of white cardstock on top. I adhered the Floral Books Stacked cut file with pop dots to the white cardstock to create some dimension and shadow. I then used pieces from the Horizon Ephemera Die Cuts and the Stickers to add decorative elements in and around the cut file. I love the pops of color they create around the white cut file. I added my title using the colorful Whimsical Foam Mini Thickers above my photo. I also added some of the pretty Whimsical Rub-Ons to my white background to further add a soft feel to the layout

I added an interactive element under my photo with a fold out booklet hiding my journaling using Paper 23 from the Turn the Page collection. I added some of the stickers from the 30-page Paige Evans #StickerBook to complete my layout. I love how soft and feminine my layout is and I love that I get to tell a little bit of my story as well.

The Sweet Life Layout for Paige's Pages 18

Here is the first page from my Paige's Pages 18 class at Big Picture Classes!
I used my Flower Borders cut file (found for free at the end of Lesson 1) to create a large focal element with a twist – it’s at an angle! I’m also using an unusual photo size – it’s 3 ¼ x 10”. Usually I use smaller photos such as 2 x 3”, 3 x 4”, or any size square, so it was fun to change things up and make the photo an integral part of the layout.

 I backed the flowers quickly with colors and patterns from a single piece of paper in my new Horizon collection with Pink Paislee, Paper 03. Papers with lots of colors and designs them are great for projects like this.

 After backing the cut file I chose a patterned paper (Paper 09) for the background and found a photo. I considered using three smaller square black & white photos, but ultimately went with one larger photo - I love the impact and drama it creates.

  Then I tilted the flower borders and photo at an angle – this adds so much interest for being such a little step!

Family Layout by Zsoka Marko

Hey there crafty friends, Zsoka Marko with you today, sharing my latest layout using the gorgeous Horizon collection and Paige's Flower Circle cut file.
I cut the beautiful Flower Circle from textured white cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo. I also cut a few extra flowers - to do this I just erased the rest of the cut file, only leaving me with the flower. Some parts will not cut since there are no cut lines but these small areas are very easy to fussy cut.
I then backed the cut file with different patterned papers. The single flowers I backed with white vellum. I glued down the circle onto my chosen background paper - only the circle, not the flowers or anything else. I added machine stitching so I could be sure my layout won't fall apart at some point. I cut off the patterned paper behind the cut file so I could back it with white vellum.
I added foam adhesive to the back, also behind the flowers where it's not visible. I then placed some crystals and sequins on a white heavyweight cardstock and adhered the patterned paper front to it. Basically just like you would make a shaker card.
Last but not least I embellished my page: I added some word Stickers, Epoxy Stickers, Chipboard Stickers, Ephemera Die Cuts, a globe Paper Clip, my title and journaling, and done! Oh, and I also glued the vellum flowers on top of the patterned paper ones. Done and done!

Simple Pleasures Bookbinding Class Recap

Last Saturday I taught a bookbinding class at Simple Pleasures in Colorado Springs!
First of all, this store is literally heaven on earth.
My very first job was at a scrapbooking store just like this in Redmond, WA.
Aisles and aisles of papers and embellishments as far as the eye can see. 
It reminded me of the good ol' days and I am so flippin' gosh dern happy that these stores do exist still because as you know most have closed. 
Support the local scrapbook store!
They have new product like my Horizon collection:
As well as vintage supplies you can't find anymore like Basic Grey and Rusty Pickle:
I even found some of my Fancy Free collection - my very first line with Pink Paislee from a few years ago!
Ribbons & trims in a rainbow of colors.
Inks galore.
And the store is ORGANIZED SO WELL! Signs on the wall tell you which theme/holiday/section you can find there like the seasons, holidays, even an entire military section which is great with the huge base nearby. 
Can't forget Disney and Harry Potter too!

 I taught a bookbinding course to 16 lovely ladies from around the area and everyone walked away with a handmade book.
 Almost finished!
 My favorite part is lining up the books to see them all together.
 If you are ever in Colorado this Simple Pleasures store is a MUST! I even think it's worth planning a road trip just to visit, it's that awesome!

Day Dreamer Layout by Donna Espiritu

Hello everyone! It's Donna Espiritu here with my a new layout for the Paige Evans + Silhouette design team. I used Paige's Flower Corner cut file and Horizon collection.
I started with Paper 22 as the background and splattered white acrylic paint across it. I used dimensional foam tape to adhere the backed cut file to the upper right side of the layout. I used several papers to back the cut file: papers from the 12x12 Paper Pad and 6x8 Paper Pad. I cut several strips of paper and adhered them to the bottom part of the layout.

Then I placed my photo over a white doily and messy thread. I embellished around the photo with pieces from the Floral Die Cuts and Ephemera Die Cuts, fussy cut patterns, and Chipboard Stickers. I fussy cut small florals from Paper 23 and scattered them in the middle of the photo and the backed cut file. I journaled a little bit to finish the layout.

Join Me On a Scrapbooking Cruise!

Join me for a Craft & Crop Cruise while visiting the Western Caribbean on Royal Caribbean's LIBERTY OF THE SEAS departing from Galveston, TX on June 7th-14th 2020!! 
This will be my first Crop & Cruise and I am so excited to offer three full days of classes while at sea including layouts, mini albums, and a coptic bookbinding course!
It would be so fun to have you there to craft, crop, & cruise while checking off bucketlist items! Hope to "sea" you there! :)

New Blue Bicycle Layout

I am so excited to share a new layout with you today featuring super cute metal dies by Coco & Reno paired with my Horizon collection with Pink Paislee which can be found online and in JoAnn stores!
I started by die cutting my Vintage Bicycle cut file from white cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo 3. I chose Paper 06 with the blue painterly stripes as my background. I backed parts of the cut file (such as the flowers, baskets, seat, handle, etc.) with papers from Horizon. Time to play with the Coco & Reno metal dies! I was sent these ones to try out:
I used the April Lace dies to create two round clusters and did machine stitching through them for texture and interest. I placed the larger piece on the larger bicycle wheel and the smaller piece on the smaller wheel.
 Next I created a few layered flowers and leaves using the Cutting-die Monthly Subscription set. I tucked the flowers behind the flowers in the baskets and added the leaves underneath those with liquid glue because they're so delicate and I wanted them to lift off the page. I tucked in a few Floral Die Cuts and Ephemera Die Cuts as well.
 For the title I used the blue Mini Foam Thickers from Pick-Me-Up and wrote out "NEW BLUE BICYCLE" around the curve of the large wheel. I took a screenshot of a video of me trying out the bicycle I bought and built myself (girl power! :) and printed that out to add to the layout.
 For journaling I typed it in my favorite font called Remington Noiseless at size 8, printed it out, trimmed it into strips, then glued them over the right edge of the photo in non-important space. To finish I cut two lacy borders using Coco & Reno metal dies from white cardstock and tucked them under the photo.
