lol. it is aloha - mahalo is thank you. ohana is family. and pau is done. and you are hollies visiting from the mainland. hahahahah have fun! safe travels! can't wait to see photos... and ps. i'm jealous!!!
My parents bought a house there about a year ago. It's the most beautiful island! I don't even know where to start! You have to go to Hanalei Bay. The beach is GORGEOUS and it's just a fun little town. The Beach House restaurant is kind of expensive but reallllly good. It is located in Waimea, I think. You can look it up. And just get out and be on the beach. It's gorgeous. Do some hiking too... it's amazing!
oooooh, so exciting! dh and I went there for our honeymoon and we dream of going back. We loved driving up to see the canyon. we stayed on Poipu Beach and spent one day in Princeville on the other side of the island. the coffee fields are really cool. And Jo Jo's has THE BEST EVER shaved ice with cream.
we went to kauai on our honeymoon. GORGEOUS. you will love it. if you like sushi, we enjoyed Sansei's. (although how can you go wrong w/ sushi anywhere in hawaii?) i think its near whalers cove??? can't remember for sure! i do remember one of the dixie chicks had sansei's cater a wedding reception :) HAVE FUN!
My parents went in October. Their favorite thing was hanging with the locals. LOL. They watched some basket-weaving (my mom learned how!), and my dad ate a delicious tropical snow-cone over vanilla ice cream. Tee hee. :-)
If you are up in the north side (all worth the drive if you are not) - sunset on Ke'e Beach, snorkle a Tunnels, dinner at least once at Postcards Cafe in Hanalei. We love this place and always stay in Princeville. Have a great time.
