The Patch Double-Page Spread by Paige Evans

Sunday, October 5, 2025

I am having so much fun sharing Halloween-themed pages I made last year that I've held onto for a whole year so they're back in season using my Tricks & Treats collection! This is a double-page spread that was a bonus project for our Tricks & Treats Weekend event last fall here in Colorado.
You can purchase instructions for this spread and (5) 12x12 layouts HERE but please "beware" the patterned papers are no longer available. I'm begging American Crafts to re-release the Tricks & Treats papers!
I began by cutting apart all of the tags from Paper 2 and then embroidered each tag. I used DMC threads 210, 414, 415, 563, 712, 727, 728, 818, 844, 922, 3608, 3825, 3835, 3849, 3863, and white (not all the colors are shown in the photo below).
I used a mix of the backstitch, chain stitch, and French knots. Stitching the tags took me about 30-45 hours, honestly I lost track of time! But I LOOOVE the results!
I alternated gluing down a tag with a photo popped up with foam squares across two sheets of white cardstock to put the spread together.
Embellishments are quite sparse since there is so much going on already: cardstock stickers over white space, mini foam Thickers for the title, puffy phrase stickers on emptier tags, enamel dots, and that’s it!
Look at that texture! :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a spooktacular day!
