DESCRIPTION: Oh how I love stitching big titles on layouts :) I used one of the digital cards from the Documenter kit as a cut file, used a pen to draw it, poked holes all the way around, and then backstitched, changing thread colors every letter. Labor of love!

JOURNALING SAYS: The five days we spent alone in London were some of my favorite days ever, I love you so much!

HOW TO: In a new Silhouette document, place the title PNG, trace it, and the replace the cutting blade in the Cameo with a pen or pencil to draw it. Poke holes about every 1/4" all the way around and then backstitch through the letters, changing thread color with each letter. Took about 8 hours. Drop watercolors around the page and place a few washi circles. Trim patterned paper strips, distress and tear the edges, then adhere them to the right side. Layer a photo over Fancy Free journaling cards (yay for them being included in a Studio Calico kit!) and embellish with a "#feels" wood veneer, puffy sticker, journaling written below, and "you are my home" roller date stamp.

SUPPLIES: Kits, cut file: Studio Calico; Thread: DMC; Die cut machine: Silhouette Cameo; Pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Watercolors: Loew Cornell

HUGS by Paige Evans

DESCRIPTION: I loooooooooove the machine stitched backgrounds Steffi Ried has been creating lately and had to try my hand (or machine!) at this fun and colorful technique!

JOURNALING SAYS: As much as you fight I love that whenever I'm taking pictures of you two and I ask you guys to hug you always do!

HOW TO: Machine stitch haphazardly down a white cardstock background using 8 colors of thread. Drop matching colors of paint over the stitching. Embellish down the middle of the layout using die cuts, stickers, little flowers fussy cut from patterned paper, sequins, and of course, a photo. Journal at the bottom and place a letter sticker title in the white space of the picture.

SUPPLIES: Kit: Studio Calico; Cardstock, pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Sewing machine: Brother; Thread: Coats & Clark; Watercolors: Loew Cornell
