Cut and Bend Flower Layout by Valerie Bisson

Tuesday, April 30, 2024

Hi friends! Valerie Bisson here and I’m so happy to share my next design team project with you featuring Paige's Bend Up Flower Petals Cut File and her Blooming Wild collection.
I have wanted to use the Bend Up Flower Petals Cut File for quite some time and I’m so happy I finally used it. I used white cardstock for the Bend Up Flower Petals Cut File, make sure to attach all the petals together before cutting if you use a Cricut like I do. Next I added Paper 17 behind the cut file and took a few minutes curling up all the petals so that you could see the background paper peeking through. I did add foil to the cut file with the foil transfer tool on my Cricut but most of the foil came off when I was curling the petals. It would have added a nice detail but, c’est la vie. Next I added my round photo to the center, followed by embellishing with the Rolled Paper Flowers Cut Files across my page in a diagonal. I added in additional flowers with the Floral Die Cuts, a title with the Puffy Phrase Stickers and Thickers, and a label from the Sticker Book for a little bit of journaling. I felt like my page needed something extra so I added some stencilling with Paige’s sold out Flowers Stencil and Distress Oxides in the colors Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet. Lastly, some hand stitching around the outer edge using a backstitch and French knots on a few Floral Die Cuts in a variegated DMC thread.
I enjoyed making this page and love how it turned out! I hope you are inspired to create something similar with the Bend Up Flower Petals Cut File and Blooming Wild collection!

Half Flower Layout by Sophie Delorme

Hello friends! It's Sophie Delorme here with you today to share a new layout for the Paige Evans Cut File Design Team! I used Paige's Half Flower cut file paired with her Blooming Wild collection.
First I cut the Half Flower from white cardstock and placed it horizontal on the lower half of the layout. I cut the Half Flower again, this time from the colorful radial Paper 22, and attached the inner pieces into the white cardstock flower with just a bit of adhesive so I could curl up the petals for a beautiful, dimensional effect. I chose a black & white photo to make sure that it didn't compete with the colorful page and created a few floral clusters around it with Floral Die Cuts and Cardstock Stickers. I fussy cut a few rainbows out of Paper 6 and placed them next to my title, which was created using the Puffy Phrase Stickers.
I hope that you like it and that you're inspired to check out the Half Flower cut file along with the Blooming Wild collection! Thanks so much for stopping by!

I Love You Floral Frame Layout by Paige Evans

Saturday, April 27, 2024

Here is the other layout I made for the Spring/Summer 2024 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine which you can download and browse for free HERE! I used my Blooming Wild collection and featured an entire package of Floral Die Cuts plus all the flowers from the Ephemera Die Cuts!
This layout comes together quickly! Grab a new package of Floral Die Cuts and pull all the flowers and leaves from the Ephemera Die Cuts. Gently bend and crease the petals and leaves to give them texture and dimension. Place all the flowers and leaves around the edges of a mint 12x12 smooth cardstock background to create a beautiful and dynamic frame. Add a 4x6" photo to the center and layer additional embellishments on and around it such as Journaling Spots, birds from the Chipboard Stickers and Cardstock Stickers, and finish up with Mini Flower Puffy Stickers.
I hope this layout inspires you to check out the Spring/Summer 2024 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine which you can download and browse for free HERE and try creating a similar page with my  my Blooming Wild collection! Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for stopping by!

Shabby-Chic Flower Layout by Phil Donahue

Hello scrappy friends! Phil Donahue here so happy to be back on Paige's blog with a shabby-chic inspired layout featuring Paige's Flower Cut File along with her gorgeous Blooming Wild collection!
These cute photos of my niece, taken on Easter Sunday, along with the distressed wood on my sister's porch really inspired me to create the shabby-chic style layout! In Cricut Design Space I scaled the Flower Cut File down to be about 4 inches in width then copied it three times. I cut the flowers from white cardstock and carefully weeded the intricate design off the cutting mat. My absolute favorite mint and white floral paper from the Blooming Wild Project Pad served as my main background base along with a 10x10" woodgrain paper from my stash over top. To create more interest on the background, I stenciled florals using crackle paste and splattered white acrylic paint in three areas of the page to add to the distressed look. I loosely adhered the flowers over each area of distressed stenciling and backed the photos with torn pieces of Paper 24 to mat each. I created lace floral embellishments to pair next to each photo which really amplified the shabby-chic theme. To create these, I simply cut a one-inch circle out of cardstock then hot glued strips of lace to create a flower-like shape! My title was placed in the center of the photos using a sentiment from Puffy Phrase Stickers along with a sticker from the Project Pad. Final touches were placing Chipboard Stickers, Washi Tape, and bundles of white thread around the page to add more texture and interest to the layout!
I hope you found some inspiration in this layout and choose to try Paige's Flower Cut File along with the Blooming Wild collection! Thanks for stopping by and have a scrappy day!

Crafty Beach Bash Recap

Thursday, April 25, 2024

The third weekend in April I flew to Houston, Texas then drove to Conroe to teach alongside the one and only Vicki Boutin at the Crafty Beach Bash hosted by Crafter's Dream Retreat
Cheri, Courtney, and Christiana (the triple C's!) have been planning this event since the Crafty Fiesta last year and after much anticipation the scrappy weekend arrived, woohoo!
I took an early morning flight out of Denver and Pikes Peak was peeking out above the clouds, so cool!
My scrappy buddy Shannon who works for United was on both my flights which made traveling so much more fun and not so lonely! I loved getting all the ins and outs of flying from someone in the know :)
We landed in hot and humid Houston lol and took a Lyft to Conroe. Well, first he tried to drop us off in a random neighborhood which was a bit scary... but we figured it out and made it to the Hyatt hotel. This area of Texas is called The Woodlands and I can see why! Lots of beautiful trees!
The view from my hotel room.
All set up and ready to go!
I found Vicki!! She's the best. We had a meet'n'greet the first night and took lots of pics with scrappy friends!
The rooms were opened so everyone could set up their stuff in preparation for classes.
The next day was Friday and that same day I got to announce my Adventurous collection so I wore this travel dress to match :)
In the classes we made 4 layouts and a mini album! If you missed out on the event, don't worry, you can purchase the Concentric Heart-Shaped Mini Album Class PDF HERE and the 4 Poppy & Pear Layouts Class PDF HERE.
Yummy food! Mexican for lunch, French toast for breakfast, BBQ for lunch, and a charcuterie board place for lunch the last day which was my favorite of them all. Soooo yummy I'd go back to Conroe just for that sandwich!
I was gifted this can of Dr. Pepper and it was delightful! Tastes like summer :)
Group photo time! I don't have the official ones yet but once I do I'll be sure to add them here.
There were about 180 crafters from all around the world who joined in the fun!
The event was divided into two groups in two separate rooms so I taught two classes in one room the first day then taught the same two classes to the group in the other room the second day. A li'l switcheroo!
I love seeing how people adapt the projects and make them their own!
The projector screen and sound system are a must when teaching groups this large. Gotta love technology!
Love this.
Fun pics from the event!
Embracing my Monica hair haha.
Thank you so much to Cheri, Courtney, and Christiana for inviting me back to Texas to teach! Hope to do it all again soon!!
YAY FOR SCRAPBOOKING!!
Group pic!
Check out all my upcoming in-person events HERE - this event was the first of many the rest of the year!

Licks of Love Layout by Monique Lowe

Hi creative friends! Monique Lowe here sharing a flower-filled layout featuring Paige's lovely Flower Cluster cut file and a variety of her collections including Blooming WildSplendid, and Wonders.
I wanted to create a fun and colorful layout to document a sweet moment with my fur babies, Athena and Skye. To create my background, I swiped Distress Oxides onto a sheet of white cardstock (previously prepped with clear gesso). Using a wet paintbrush, I dabbed at the ink swipes to loosen and spread the color. Then I layered the color by spritzing Shimmerz Sprays in coordinating shades and left it to dry. I opted to cut the Flower Cluster in various sizes and used black cardstock to give the florals a strongly defined outline. I chose a few bright and bold patterned papers from Paige’s collections to back them. Next, I used three squares from Paper 6 (Splendid), placing these tone-on-tone and diagonally on the mixed media background. I built on these by adding 2 inch squares to each cluster, using both sides of Paper 11 (Blooming Wild). I added my photos to the right of the central cluster, with the title in black Thickers in the middle of my page. Then I embellished the clusters with the cut file florals and leaves and a few flower ephemera pieces from the Wonders collection. Finally, I added in a few unbacked flowers, some acrylic heart pieces, and a chain stitched border.
I loved recalling this funny moment with my fur babies and hope you feel inspired to get creative documenting your memories with the Flower Cluster too!
