Garden Shoppe Weekend Layout by Paige Evans

Tuesday, November 29, 2022

Last weekend I got to teach in-person alongside my scrappy pals Andrea Lake, Jessica Upton from Color Cast Designs, and Erica Thompson! Two fun-filled days with laughing, learning, and so much scrapping! I'll be teaching next in Texas in May and we hope to teach here in Colorado again soon! I made a layout using the exclusive cut file for all the attendees:

Pictures on this layout are from our previous event so I'll switch them out to the pics from this event soon!

I backed the Garden Shoppe Weekend cut file (cut from white cardstock) with scraps from the following papers:
G-24, A-7, R-18, D-24, E-24, N-1, Flower-5
Flower center-9, Flower-17, S-22, H-24, O-6, P-23, P-24, E-15
W-2, E-21, E-2, K-20, E-15, N-8, D-11
Then I trimmed off the barcode strip from Paper 3 and used the periwinkle blue striped B-side for the background. I attached the finished backed cut file to the top at a slight angle using foam squares for dimension. Next I pinched and bent Floral Die Cuts and flowers from the Ephemera Die Cuts to give them life and texture then tucked them above and below the title. I added (2) 4 x3” photos at slightly different levels under the title at the bottom of the page. I cut a copper bubble border sticker from the 8-Page Sticker Book in half and tucked the pieces under the bottom edge of the photos to create a scalloped border.
Next I stamped flowers and leaves from the Acrylic Stamps with black StazOn ink onto smooth white cardstock, fussy cut them out, then pinched and bent them to create texture. I added a pair of leaves behind the two flowers on the cut file and clustered the rest on the left side of the left photo and the right side of the right photo. To finish I embellished the cut file with a flower Cardstock Sticker on the ‘open space’ letters, topped two of them with mini sentiment stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book, and placed a button Cardstock Sticker on the center of the two flowers.
I hope you're inspired to check out my Garden Shoppe collection and attend one of my in-person events!! :)

Garden Shoppe Weekend Recap

Monday, November 28, 2022

On Saturday & Sunday November 19th & 20th 2022 Andrea and I taught our third in-person event here in Colorado called Garden Shoppe Weekend!

We've been counting down the months, then weeks, then days, then hours, then minutes, then seconds, lol :) At last the moment arrived!
Gathering everything to take to the hotel.
Andrea and Valorie made another beautiful balloon arch.
I drove up the day before to get everything prepped and ready instead of arriving a few hours early the following morning. I like sleep :)
I made QR codes for all my virtual layout classes. It was so fun to see them all in a row.
We did a MemoryDex card swap again.
The next morning I drove up to the hotel with about 45 minutes before the event began to put the finishing touches on everything. Andrea and I were figuring out the projector and computer until the very last minute lol, literally until 8:59am. But with that last minute to spare, we opened the doors and the event officially began!!
Welcome one and all to Day 1!
Love seeing everyone's creative MemoryDex cards.
Day 1 has begun!
In the first class we made two layouts together. Stay tuned, I plan to have all my projects available as virtual classes in January.
We spent some time creating the textured/dimensional hearts background.
The MemoryDex trays quickly filled up with so much handmade awesomeness!
A table dedicated to paint splattering.
Prepping flowers.
Jessica used a different patterned paper for her background which I LOVE!
Ready to take home!
Next, Andrea taught her mini album workshop.
Fun fun fun day one!
Jessica taught her bonus layout class in the evening then we spent the rest of the night scrapping!
Rochi used my cut file on these super cute and festive holiday sweatshirts.
I drove home at night to sleep in my own bed and have my kitty sandwich (Amy sleeps on my right, Sandy sleeps on my left, and it's the best). The next morning I drove back up to the hotel for day 2!
We made this mini album together in the next class - again stay tuned for the virtual option :)
Pick three tassels, any three tassels!
Jessica created these custom flower and leaf acrylics for our weekend and I ended up using them as charms on my mini album.
As we were creating the mini album I told the story of meeting the band Cartel in person. Some were curious about their music so during lunch break we rocked out to their songs :)
Love taking pics with friends!
After lunch Andrea taught her layouts workshop.
To wrap up the event Erica Thompson taught her bonus layout class.
The kits have lots of leftovers so I loved walking around seeing what everyone was doing with their scraps. CUTE!
Andrea now lives in Omaha, so we are still hoping to be able to have these events, it's just a matter of buttering up the hotel hehe :) Keep your fingers & toes crossed! We'd love to continue! In the meantime, my next in-person event will be in Round Top, Texas!
We had an amazing weekend! Thank you to each and every person that came from near and far (I'm talking about you Sonya - she came all the way from Australia!!) to attend. We hope to see you again soon and scrap together!!!
