Christmas Layout by Valerie Bisson

Thursday, November 30, 2023

Hi friends! Valerie Bisson here and I’m so happy to be back on the blog with a new layout featuring Paige's Christmas Title from the 25 Christmas Cut Files 2020 and the Lightstrand Background from the 25 Christmas Cut Files 2021. The page is made with the Sugarplum Wishes collection!
For the Lightstrand Background I used Paper 12 which was perfect because it has a bunch of different colors and patterns. I also backed the Lightstrand Background with Paper 4 and framed it with Paper 1. Next I picked reds and pinks for the Christmas Title and off set it with Paper 10. Then I popped it up with foam squares next to my photo. I added “EVE” next to the title with Mini Thickers to complete my title. Lastly I made three clusters of embellishments surrounding my photo and title. For this I used the Sticker Book, Cardstock Stickers, Floral & Snowflake Die Cuts, Foam Stickers, and Enamel Dots for the holly berries.
Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to check out all the different Christmas Cut File bundles in Paige’s Shop along with her colorful Sugarplum Wishes collection!

Blizzard Layout by Phil Donahue

Wednesday, November 29, 2023

Hello scrappy friends! Phil Donahue here back with another wintertime layout featuring Paige's Blizzard Cut File along with her wonderful Sugarplum Wishes collection! For this page I wanted to document photos of my niece playing in the snow for one of the first times in her life!
To begin, I cut out the Blizzard title from textured teal cardstock. Then I backed it with the pink stripe side of Paper 11 because the shades of pink made the gloves she was wearing in the photos pop! After backing I knew I wanted to predominantly feature Paper 9 which has a flurry of colorful snowflakes that reflected the theme of the layout perfectly! I cut that paper to 11x11 and adhered it to the aqua and teal plaid side of Paper 3 in a diamond shape. Then I placed the cut file and vellum-backed photos directly in the center of the page - elevating the cut file with foam squares to create more dimension. Because of the use of many patterns, I wanted to keep embellishments super simple so I added snowflakes from the Sticker Book, Foam Stickers, and Cardstock Stickers on the top left and bottom right corners of the layout. Final touches were various shades of pink enamel dots from my stash and splatters of white acrylic paint in the areas of embellishments!
I hope you found some inspiration in this layout and choose to try out Paige's Blizzard Cut File along with her Sugarplum Wishes this season! Happy scrapping!!

Gingerbread Village Layout by Noelle Culp

Tuesday, November 28, 2023

Hi crafty friends! Noelle Culp back with a new layout! For this page I used Paige's Christmas Village from the 25 Christmas Cut Files along with her Sugarplum Wishes collection.
I started with the Christmas Village Cut File which worked perfectly with the little set of gingerbread houses that my kids had worked on. I backed the cut file with brown paper, sparkly white glitter paper, and a few pieces of reds, pinks, and greens from Sugarplum Wishes. For my background I cut a circle out of white cardstock and backed it with Paper 6. I then stitched around the circle with my sewing machine. I adhered the cut file in front of it and added my photo that I backed with Paper 7. I then added some Lightstrands which I backed with various matching papers from the 12x12 Paper Pad. I fussy cut a few flowers from the background paper that I used and attached them to my house. I also added a few little Christmas trees from Paper 11 and a few Enamel Dots as the doorknobs. I added a little green strip from the Sticker Book to the bottom of the page as well. I added a title and a few stars that I cut out from the patterned paper using a punch die. Lastly I added a little sentiment from the Ephemera Die Cuts.
I love how this page turned out and I hope it inspires you to try Paige's Christmas Village from the 25 Christmas Cut Files along with her Sugarplum Wishes collection!

Sugarplum Wishes Coptic Book by Paige Evans

Monday, November 27, 2023

With every scrapbook collection I create a matching coptic book and here is the Sugarplum Wishes edition!

I have a virtual class teaching how to make coptic books HERE.
I love making these handmade coptic books mostly to look pretty on my shelf :)
You can use them as diaries, "smash books" or art journals, daily gratitude lists, wedding sign-in books, mother-to-be baby shower books, as a scrapbook, making goals & checklists, tracking accomplishments, for instax photos, book reviews, and so much more! I made my December Daily 2017 in one and it's one of my favorite December Daily albums.
I love to try new techniques with the covers - I've painted them, stamped them, covered them with embellishments, rolled flowers, and left them plain. For the covers of this album I wrapped them with Paper 7 and then used my Folded Circle Cut File to make dozens of miniature circles from all the Sugarplum Wishes 12x12 patterned papers.
My favorite part is the exposed binding and tying on charms, beads, stickers, tassels, buttons, sequins, and more as I'm sewing.
On this book I took apart the Tassels with Charms to use as individual pieces and even drilled holes through the Acrylic Sweaters to use as charms. I also placed Mini Puffy Stickers back-to-back and punched tiny holes through them to turn into charms and additionally added Sequins as charms. So many fun bits, pieces & baubles!
After assembling the book I die cut all the Folded Circles, folded them, and used them to cover the covers.
When sewing the book together I used a red/green/white ombre thread for a fun Christmas touch.
I used two of each of the Sugarplum Wishes papers to make the signatures - I just love all the colors and patterns!
This book is 4x6" which is perfect for full-sized photos and smaller memorabilia.
It lays flat when opened which makes it easy to write & create art inside.
There's nothing quite like the feeling of making a cute book completely from scratch! Once you make one, you'll want to make more!

Holly Jolly Layout by Lisa Fonseca

Hey friends, it's Lisa Fonseca back with a fun and festive layout! For this page I used Paige's Cross Stitch Reindeer Cut File along with Sugarplum Wishes.
This Cross Stitch Reindeer Cut File was super easy to back (which was very good after hand-stitching for a few hours for a layout featuring one of Paige's 25 Christmas Stitching Cut Files!) so I backed it with different colors of patterned paper. I adhered the cut file using foam after adding two ripped strips of paper to the left and right of the background. Then I decorated with a ton of flowers that I fussy cut! I embellished with Ephemera Die CutsCardstock StickersEnamel Dots, pieces from the Sticker Book, and a title made with the Mini Thickers!
Who likes fussy cutting and using a ton of flowers on their layouts? :) I hope you're inspired to check out Paige's Cross Stitch Reindeer Cut File and Sugarplum Wishes collection!

Merry & Bright Layout by Yui Oku

Sunday, November 26, 2023

Hi everyone! Yui Oku here today with a new layout using Paige's Merry & Bright Cut File along with her Sugarplum Wishes collection! Last year we went to various places to see Christmas lights so I wanted to highlight these photos with a fun cut file.
At first I was thinking of making colorful lights using patterned paper in various colors as usual. But I remembered that I made such a layout last year. I wanted to try something new, even if just a little different. And I like simple layouts as much as colorful ones. So I chose pink for background and gold for the lights and title. I thought of various ways to make it gold, and this time I tried using gold paint. For the title, I painted the negative parts and attached them back in place with foam tape. For the lights, I had thrown away the negative parts lol, so I painted directly on the background paper. For embellishments I added clusters using Cardstock StickersFloral Die Cuts, the Sticker Book, and Foam Stickers!
I hope you're inspired to try Paige's Merry & Bright Cut File along with her Sugarplum Wishes collection! Happy holidays!

Merry Pinkmas Layout by Kelly Daye

Saturday, November 25, 2023

Hi friends! Kelly Daye here with a new layout using Paige’s fun & festive Sugarplum Wishes collection! My idea was to create a pink Christmas tree like the one we put up in our home.
I cut out Paige's Christmas Tree Branches Cut File three times - all are 9 inches tall, then 7.5, 5.5 and 3.5 inches wide. The middle cut file is vellum and the other two are cut from pink cardstock. Each tree was creased down the middle, then stacked and glued together. To decorate my dimensional tree, I fussy cut lots of ornaments from Paper 10 and glued them to all the layers. The vellum layer lets you see through to the ornaments on the bottom layer. Once decorated, I popped up my tree with foam in the center of Paper 5. Then I cut a circle out of Paper 1, trimmed off ½” from two sides, and centered it on top to frame my tree. To add even more texture, I chain stitched around the frame with all 6 strands of DMC variegated thread #4502. The embellishments are all from Sugarplum WishesCardstock StickersFoam StickersMini Puffy Stickers, and a tag with the year surround my photos. The title, Merry Pinkmas, was added just inside the frame using the Mini Thickers - I just love the sweet mix of patterns and colors on them!
I hope you’re inspired to use Paige's cut files with Sugarplum Wishes to make something Christmasy and dimensional on your own pretty layouts!
