Post Game Fireworks Layout by Valerie Bisson

Tuesday, September 1, 2026

Hi crafty friends! Valerie Bisson on the blog today and I’m so happy to share a new scrapbook layout with you featuring Paige’s Fireworks Cut File and her Legendary collection with Pinkfresh Studio.
I started with white cardstock to cut the Fireworks followed by adding gold and blue metallic watercolor paint across the background. To back the cut file I used the Creative Energy Paper, Next-Level Content Paper, On Repeat Paper, and Scenes from Today Paper. To add more interest and texture to the fireworks I added hand stitching including backstitches and French knots; I also punched out some smaller stars and adhered them with foam squares over top of the stars in the cut file. I created a grounding spot for my photos by adding a 2” strip of the Trending Now Paper along the bottom of the page. Next I placed the title to the right of my photos with the Puffy Alpha Stickers and for balance I placed a Cardstock Sticker to the left. From the Legendary Moments Paper I cut out a couple of the sentiment patches clustered above the photos with Journaling Die Cuts. Lastly I added a few Enamel Dots in three spots surrounding the photos and journaling.

August 2026 Highlights

Here's what we were up to throughout August 2026!
Jane got a haircut the day before she went back to in-person school. She was homeschooled for both middle school years and now she's officially in HIGH SCHOOL!
Jane on her first day of 9th grade & Fox on his first day of 10th grade so we have a freshman and sophomore. Oh my days!
Off they go, two huge pieces of my heart. AAAAND Jane started her first year of seminary and Fox started his second. Good thing Chris and I are both early risers to get them out the door in time! Lucky kids though, they only have to go 4 days a week.
Jane's artistic skills never cease to amaze me. I take all the credit though ;) ;) ;)
After being gone so much this summer, Sandy was very needy.
Amy too! She missed me.
GO BRONCOS!!! On the first pre-season game I of course sported Broncos gear and loved when Stidham got a touchdown on the opening drive. We're gonna win the Super Bowl this year :)
I changed my tragus earring to something more substantial and I straightened my hair for the first time in like a year.
We saw one movie in the theater - Spider-Man. Listen, I like a LOT of things. But anything Marvel ain't one of them. Sorry folks!
I was asked to switch up the ward bulletin board. Three months ago. LOL. It was a crazy summer okay?! But finally I took down all the old photos, made a banner and pom pom garland, printed pics, outlined the board with ribbon, and pinned on stickers. Chris helped me put it all together - can you even tell which side he did?! He's the best :) If you're new here, did you know he proposed to me with a scrapbook that he made? KEEPER!
We have a bird feeder in the backyard and it makes my heart giddy seeing all the different kinds of wildlife that visits. From bears (see June 2026 highlights), to squirrels, bunnies, pigeons, and many different kinds of birds, it's always fun to look out and see who's hungry.
Go Wyndam!! He's from Denver so we're fans of his.
Chris made me a DELICIOUS dinner with chicken, rice, cherry tomatoes, beans, corn, peppers, and limes. Mmmmmmmm.
I had one day between projects so I built the new X-Files Lego. Teehee!
I have been completely obsessed with the Lindsay Clancy trial and have been watching it live for weeks on end. As I write this the jury is still in deliberation and I'm anxiously awaiting their verdict. I can see it going ANY way.
Soaking up the last few weeks of summer.
We went to the Old Town Dental annual summer party at Mike's house, always a fun time.
Mike's dog is so cute.

Our kitties are cuter ;) I kid I kid. One afternoon I found them snoozing on the dining room chairs.
The girls throughout the month. 1. On/under our coffee table. 2. "Ammmyyyy pleeeeaaaaase play with meeeee!"
3. How much are those kitties in the window? 4. Both girls sitting in drawers where I exercise. Why tho?
My super snuggler.
Sandy is something else.
I take more photos of my kitties than anything else. Can you blame me?! :)

Finishing with scrappy things! I shared (9) 12x12 layouts here on my blog in August. Projects are linked below if you want more details:
I released a new Class PDF in my shop with photos and instructions for creating (14) 12x12 layouts and a mini album with a mix of my Crafted Moments collection and the Take Note collection by Simple Stories. Purchase the Class PDF HERE.
The day after we got back from the Alaskan Cruise, I started working on my 3 Spooky Little Craft Fest projects using BooVille. I finished them in the nick of time and the workshops released at the end of the month - details below!
Some albums from Simple Stories arrived and of course Amy climbed up to the top and Sandy wished she could climb to the top.
I met up with Valorie and Tasha at The Tilted Brick in Longmont so we could scrapbook together.
I worked on handstitching the spooky frames paper from BooVille. Still a work in progress.
I spy Very Merry Christmas.
So fun to spend time with my crafty friends.
My big BooVille order was delivered. 700 pounds of Halloween goodies to use in my upcoming kits & classes!
I did an unboxing of BooVille!
A little late but hopefully worth the wait :)

You can watch the full unboxing video below:
An hour after the unboxing registration opened for my 3 classes at Spooky Little Craft Fest!
And then a few hours after registration opened, I joined a Zoom with my scrappy friends in Brazil to make a special announcement....
I'M GOING TO BRAZIL TO TEACH!!! August 28th & 29th 2027, I'm heading to Goiânia Brazil to teach alongside these talented teachers at Cor & Amor. More info can be found HERE. I cannot wait to meet Gi DeMello in real life after making so many collaborations together over the past few years!
A sample of the ghost charm from Emily arrived - every haunted house needs a ghost in the attic right?!
For my December Daily this year I'll be using this Peppermint Candy Sequin Album (handmade by Gi DeMello in Brazil of course!) along with the older Holiday Magic Christmas collection from Pinkfresh Studio - tentatively releasing mid-to-end of November. Please email me or comment below to be on the first-to-know when this kit is ready list.
Here's to an amazing September! We usually go to Disneyland or Disney World in September, but I will be gone every single weekend in October so we decided to go in September instead when Halloween decorations are up! Looking forward to that!
