Summer Phrases Layout by Yui Oku

Hello scrappy friends! It’s Yui Oku here sharing a new layout using Paige's Splendid collection and her Summer Phrases from the 20 Summer Cut Files!
First, I was wondering if I should change the color for each letter, or for each word. But I found Paper 13 which has nine colorful stripes and this cut file also has nine lines! Even without traditional backing, just putting the cut file on top of the paper made it look really cute. I looked for small embellishments that matched the size of the letters. I fussy cut images from Splendid patterned papers, added Chipboard Stickers, pieces from the 8-Page Sticker BookEpoxy StickersButtonsSequins & Enamel ShapesHeart Paper ClipsEphemera Die Cuts, and more! It was so fun to make!

4th of July 6x8 Scrapbook Virtual Class & New Products

Friday, June 21, 2024

Hello scrappy friends & happy Friday! Ever since American Crafts announced their patriotic Flags & Frills collection back in January I have been planning a new virtual class! You can watch every step of the process in my Instagram Highlight HERE then register for my upcoming 4th of July 6x8 Sequin Scrapbook Virtual Class HERE!
Gi DeMello and I have been collaborating on various sizes and styles of sequin albums for over a year now and I was so excited when she said yes to making a 4th of July 6x8 Sequin Album for the foundation of my class! At the time of writing this post I have just 5 albums left in my shop HERE so grab one quick!
My entire family, plus both of my Dad's brothers and their families, gather in the historic town of Wallace, Idaho to celebrate the 4th of July! This is our 4th year being together and my 3rd year documenting this holiday. Should I go back and document 2021?? I feel like I need to :) Check out my 4th of July 2023 scrapbook HERE and my 4th of July 2022 scrapbook HERE.
Over the past couple months I have been having SO.MUCH.FUN building the foundation pages and filling all the pockets of my album to hold our annual family reunion photos.
PLEASE NOTE: I am currently finishing up the sample album and then I will film the process of decorating the album and making the foundation pages so I plan to have all the instructions and videos ready in the next couple months - thanks so much for your patience this summer as I deal with chronic headaches & finding a good work/life balance. After purchasing the 4TH OF JULY CLASS Ecwid will email you the PDF which has links to a Dropbox folder where I will add the class PDF, templates, cut files, resources, and the YouTube Playlist where I will add all of the process videos over the next couple months. Just be sure to take LOTS of photos over the 4th of July holiday to fill up your scrapbook!!
The lessons will be pre-recorded so I encourage you to go at your own pace! There is no deadline, this class is meant to be fun and a way to express your creativity while simultaneously building the pages to hold your memories! Construct your album pages throughout June and July then pop your pictures in along with some finishing embellishments then TA-DA! Your very own 4th of July album!
I also designed some exclusive scrapbook supplies to go into the kit which sold out in a week (THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH scrappy friends!) but I do still have limited quantities of individual items available in MY SHOP.
I don't have any extra ribbon bundles but if you want to find similar ones for your project here is a photo of all the ones I used:
And just in case you want to be super sparkly and celebrate in style, check out this 4TH OF JULY SEQUIN JACKET! I have it and LOVE it and you'll see me in it in lots of photos throughout my album :)

Vacation Memories Layout by Valerie Bisson

Thursday, June 20, 2024

Hi friends! Valerie Bisson here and I’m so happy to share a fun summer road trip layout with you. My page features Paige's Vacation Memories from the 24 Summer Cut Files and her Blooming Wild collection.
I started my layout with Paper 5 for the background. I knew I was going to have a long story written by my daughter from her perspective of this really eerie late night traveling trying to find sleeping accommodations, so I had to figure out how I could add it. I came up with the idea to use a vellum pocket stitched behind my 3 photos which gave plenty of room for lots of text. I love how you can see just a few lines of the story peeking out between the photos. Next for the Vacation Memories Cut File sized to 10” in height I cut it from white cardstock then placed it on the right side of the page with an offset layer in a blue paper from the 12x12 Paper Pad to separate the white cut file from the background paper. Every once in a while instead of backing my cut file I like to pop up the negative space cut out of the letters. For this I used Paper 9 and Paper 15 from the 12x12 Paper Pad. I also added a patterned paper edge to the left side to balance out all the color in the cut file to the right. If you saw my previous design team project, you’ve seen me stitch the scalloped lace edge punch design before, I love the design of the punch and the added texture of stitching. Lastly, I added embellishments from the Sticker Book, Mini Flower Puffy Stickers, and a Floral Die Cut. The very last thing I added to my page was some enamel dots from my stash scattered across the layout. Thanks so much for being here and I hope you have fun creating with Paige's cut files!

My Moon & Stars Layout by Paige Evans

Wednesday, June 19, 2024

Here is the sixth of the six layouts we learned how to make at the Crop in Orlando using the Moonlight Magic collection by Crate Paper! I do have a class PDF available for purchase HERE which includes the links to supplies I used and step-by-step written instructions. I featured lots of stars on a previous page so what's another universal shape? Hearts! When placed in a grid, you simply can't go wrong!
For a bit of interest I splashed white acrylic paint and black watercolors across the background and distressed the edges of the hearts for texture. I used a photo (also in the shape of a heart) from my favorite mommy'n'me photoshoot last year that I've been scrapping lots of lately :) Let me know if you have any questions and be sure to check out my Moonlight Magic Layouts Class PDF!

Floral Globe Layout by Sophie Delorme

Hello scrappy friends! Sophie Delorme here and I am thrilled to share this new layout with you using Paige's older Wonders collection and her Floral Globe cut file. This cut file was just perfect to document a recent school trip to Costa Rica that my daughter went on.
I cut the Floral Globe from white cardstock. I used a thick white cardstock as my background and created a mixed media circle with different tones of blue inks from my stash. I let it dry completely. I backed the cut file with several patterned papers from the Wonders collection, added foam adhesive on the back, and adhered it on the page. I printed my photo in black & white and embellished around it with many beautiful florals from the collection. I used a label to write down my journaling. I am so happy with the result! This Floral Globe cut file is the star of the page! I hope this was inspiring for you, thank you for stopping by, and happy crafting !

A Little Dirt Never Hurt Layout by Phil Donahue

Tuesday, June 18, 2024

Hello scrappy friends! Phil Donahue here and I'm happy to be back on Paige's blog with a fun layout using her A Little Dirt Never Hurt cut file along with the colorful Splendid collection! This cut file was a perfect fit to feature a photo of my niece at daycare learning about gardening.
To begin, I cut the A Little Dirt Never Hurt from the yellow side of Paper 5. Next, I backed the top and bottom portions with the floral Paper 1. After, I backed the large "DIRT" portion with a brown polka dot and blue cloud paper from my stash to create a landscape scene within the word. I disassembled the Layered Bouquet Stickers to embellish the cut file. I created my background using torn strips of Paper 20 and both sides of Paper 10. Next, I stenciled and splattered Distress Oxides in areas I'd later use to embellish and place the photo. I also stamped leaves and flowers using the Acrylic Stamp Set. I adhered the photo and cut file using foam adhesive to add more depth and dimension to the page. Final embellishments were floral elements from the Flower Die Cuts which perfectly fit the gardening theme. I hope you found some inspiration in this layout and choose to try Paige's A Little Dirt Never Hurt cut file along with her vibrant Splendid collection! Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!

Hip Hip Celebrate Layout by Monique Lowe

Monday, June 17, 2024

Hello creative friends! Monique Lowe here sharing a sunny layout using Paige's cheery Sun cut file and her Blooming Wild collection.
To start my layout, I used Paper 3 to cut out the Sun. I then began working on my background using Paper 10 as my base. With mixed media in mind, I added a layer of clear gesso to the entire page and once dry, added a thin layer of white gesso. I focused this in a large circle shape to match the size of the cut file. This helped to soften the background pattern and colors, allowing all the added mixed media, photos, and embellishments to stand out. Using a variety of Shimmerz paints, I added a splash of color to my background. I focused the mixed media directly behind where the cut file would be placed and used colors to coordinate with the patterned paper for a tone-on-tone effect. Once dry, I stuck down the cut file, only adding adhesive to the circle - this allowed me to bend the rays up for added dimension. I distressed the edges of the inner ray pieces and stuck them down slightly offset from the outline. I backed both my 2x4" photos with vellum and a sheet of patterned paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad. I raised them up with foam and surrounded them with pretty blooms fussy cut from Paper 2 and from the Floral Die Cuts. I hand cut three clouds from Paper 5 and added these to my flower clusters, along with a shimmer of Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone. To finish off my layout, I added in my title using Thickers, a word piece from the Ephemera Die Cuts, a scatter of sequins in coordinating colors and a splatter of white paint. I had so much fun creating this sunny layout! Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you feel inspired to get creative with the Sun cut file and Blooming Wild!

Our Happy Place Layout by Paige Evans

Sunday, June 16, 2024

Here is the fifth of the six layouts we learned how to make at the Crop in Orlando using the Moonlight Magic collection by Crate Paper! I do have a class PDF available for purchase HERE which includes the links to supplies I used and step-by-step written instructions. The main technique is similar to the previous page only instead of a window scene it's an outdoor hill scene with fluttering butterflies, budding flowers, and a bit of hand stitching!
I loved featuring two photos from the Blooming Wild Weekend event last April! This is one of those layouts that I'm having fun making with every collection - the results are always different and always beautiful and whimsical! Let me know if you have any questions and be sure to check out my Moonlight Magic Layouts Class PDF!

Life's a Beach Layout by Kelly Daye

Hi friends! Kelly Daye here! Our summer is fast approaching and I’m hoping it’ll include a beach somewhere. This summer layout features Blooming WildSplendidGarden ShoppeSugarplum Wishes and Paige’s Sandcastle cut file. It’s an awesome cut file if you love adding lots of color and pattern to your layouts. I sure do, and who says a sandcastle has to be brown? Not in my scrap room!
The Sandcastle cut file and background are cut from white cardstock. After backing it with patterned papers from the collections, I glued it to a shadow made in Silhouette Design Studio using the Offset feature. I did a simple running stitch along the edge, going around twice, using variegated DMC 4077. To make my background, I used Paige's Alphabet Background cut file - using the inside portion of the letters, I spelled out ‘Life’s A Beach’ over and over to fill the paper. Once cut out, I laid it over another sheet of white cardstock for the pretty embossed appearance. To make the bokeh bubbles on the background, I made my own stencil with a nested circle die set. Then with soft brushes and Distress Oxides, I stenciled in opposite corners, overlapping some of the circles. To emphasize them and add more color and texture, I chain stitched around each bubble using variegated DMC 4095 and 4040. I kept my embellishments to a minimum, using a Chipboard RoundCardstock Stickers, and Mini Flower Puffy Stickers from Blooming WildMini Thickers from Sugarplum Wishes, and the Garden Shoppe Sticker Book. I made little 3D clouds and added splatter using the same Distress Oxides watered down. Of course there are sequins, gold Stickles, and gold acrylic paint added to emphasize the diagonal design. There’s just endless options for mixing Paige’s collections together to scrap your own awesome summer memories! A cut file is always a fun place to start, check out Paige’s Cut File Bundles in her shop!

Dream (Window & Garden Scene) Layout by Paige Evans

Saturday, June 15, 2024

Here is the fourth of the six layouts we learned how to make at the Crop in Orlando using the Moonlight Magic collection by Crate Paper! I do have a class PDF available for purchase HERE which includes the links to supplies I used and step-by-step written instructions. The main technique is creating a sweet little window scene complete with cute critters, dancing fairies, and a plethora of flowers blooming wildly in a garden below and in the window box planter :)
This page fits four small photos, one in each of the four faux window panes. I had lots of animal stickers and transparency flowers left from the kit as I was creating and wanted a fun way to feature them and that's how this layout came to be! Let me know if you have any questions and be sure to check out my Moonlight Magic Layouts Class PDF!

Vacation Memories Layout by Jackie Ashton

Hi scrappy friends! It’s Jackie Ashton here sharing a layout using Paige's Vacation Memories from the 24 Summer Cut Files and her Blooming Wild collection!
I cut the Vacation Memories from white cardstock and then backed it with the rainbow striped Paper 10. Before placing the title on a white cardstock background, I added ink using various shades that coordinated with the patterned paper. I matted my 3x4" photos with papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad. I positioned them on either side of the cut file, adding 3D foam to give make them the same height of as the cut file. Behind each photograph I added two tags that are cut from Paper 9. At the top of my page, I added a Chipboard Sticker to form part of my title. Underneath both photographs I’ve added labels from Paper 13 to add my date and journaling. I finished my layout using stickers from the Cardstock Stickers and Sticker Book. I hope you're inspired by this layout! Thanks so much for stopping by!
