Yesterday I taught once again in Ebern, Germany! Wir hatten Spaß! (We had fun!)

We started with the most time-consuming layout which was the heart string art template page:

LOVE YOU FOREVER by Paige Evans

HOW TO: Using the string art heart template, draw a dot through each hole of the template and then use a needle to pierce through the holes. Choose a thread and stitch around the outside of the heart first. Stitch back and forth, up and down, and across the heart to create the string art, adding sequins and buttons to the stitching (thank you to Flora Farkas for this idea!). Layer a photo over two journaling cards on the right side then embellish with die cuts, chipboard, and wood veneer. Journal on the left side.

SUPPLIES: Heart string art template, patterned paper, chipboard, die cuts, tags: Fancy Free by Paige Evans/Pink Paislee; Pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Thread: DMC; Sequins: Studio Calico; Buttons: Craft supply

I love how the ladies made it her own and picked multiple colors of threads, different background papers, so on and so forth.

Button button who's got the button?

Then we did the watercolor background on this page and set it aside to dry: photo P1080219.jpg
JANE I LIKE YOUR SMILE by Paige Evans

HOW TO: Measure the center of a white cardstock base and make a pencil dot. Make a dot at every 3” interval for a total of 9 dots. Watercolor squares over each dot and let it dry. Trim all the patterned squares from the patterned squares paper from Fancy Free and cut the squares in half diagonally to make triangles. Adhere the triangles to make new squares on the painted squares. Add a journaling spot and small doily underneath the center square and top it with a transparency tag, photo, Thickers name, “I like your smile tag”, and a baker’s twine bow. Embellish the center of each square with a small accent (chipboard, die cut, wood veneer, etc.). Drop black watercolor in three places around the layout to create a visual triangle.

Lunch break! We had a potluck style buffet and I ate some of the most delicious things I've ever had.

Next up, a half-hearts die cut page:

COLORFUL & CUTE by Paige Evans

HOW TO: Trim (23) 2 x 1 ½” pieces of paper from your favorite patterned papers in Fancy Free. Adhere the paper pieces to the back side of the heart die cut paper (you can find the half hearts cut file here:
Place a photo on the bottom right, tuck a journaling spot underneath, and write on the card. Create the title with a mix of chipboard, Thickers, and wood veneer. Place a small embellishment on the center of most of the hearts to finish.

And we ended with a large star layout:

EMBRACE LIFE by Paige Evans

HOW TO: Trim (10) 12 x ½” patterned paper strips. Placing one paper at a time, create a star. Make sure the paper is “woven” at each intercept and then adhere the edges down. Layer a photo over tags on the bottom left corner then top it with a chipboard frame, chipboard title, die cuts, and chipboard. Embellish the rest of the star with more accents as shown. Drop watercolors on the top and bottom in colors matching the paper. Journal inside the right point of the star.
