DESCRIPTION: I posted a photo of a past layout showing how to use paper tubes, and that put me in the mood to try this technique again! This time I covered the paper tubes with a big die cut tree to define the shape.

JOURNALING SAYS: We love Christmas and decorating! I'll always remember this live wreath that Chris let me get at the Grafenwöhr Christmas market and the commissary trees!

HOW TO: Trim 1" strips of Joyful patterned papers and roll them into tubes. Trace a tree from the December printables (I added a small trunk) and cut it from white cardstock. Stitch around the tree using white thread. Using the cut out tree as a template, trace around it with a pen on scratch white cardstock then cover the tree with super sticky double-sided tape. Trim the tubes to cover the entire sticky tree then adhere the negative tree background cardstock on top. Embellish the tree with wood veneer shapes and stickers like ornaments. Layer a photo onto journaling cards and die cuts on the right side of the layout. Cut the "fa la la la la" banners from white cardstock, adhere the pieces across the top right corner, and journal above the banners. Place "2014" stickers at the end of the journaling to finish.

SUPPLIES: Patterned paper, wood veneer, stickers, die cuts, journaling cards, cut files (banners, tree): Elle's Studio; Cardstock, adhesive: American Crafts; Die cut machine: Silhouette Cameo
