Hi friends! Ashley Neu back for the Paige Evans Cut File Design Team! Today I am sharing a layout using Paige’s new collection Garden Shoppe and her Fall Is... Cut File to document two photos of my girls laying in a pile of leaves. The Fall Is... Cut File is a perfect opportunity to do some tone-on-tone embellishing, which is one of my favorite techniques!
White cardstock is my go-to when I cut out any cut file so that is what I did for this layout. I grabbed Paper 4 to back the cut file. I love that this paper has the perfect amount of color strips to back each line of text in the cut file - it couldn’t have been more perfect! I adhered the cut file with foam adhesive onto Paper 2 with a border made from Paper 3. The border paper was superb as the colors changed perfectly with the colors in the cut file. I printed my photos in black & white because I knew that I was going to have so much color going on with the layout. I adhered them to the right of the cut file, slightly tucking them underneath.
The fun part of tone-on-tone embellishing came next and this was my favorite part! I grabbed pieces from the Cardstock Stickers, 8-Page Sticker Book, and Foam Phrase Stickers, including phrase stickers, chickens, a cute bike with a puppy, colorful leaves, and floral stickers! To keep the layout balanced, I tried to make sure each color in the cut file had at least 3-4 embellishments, either on top of or tucked underneath the cut file.
