My assignment was to create a summery page with my Splendid collection featuring some of my favorite techniques. Always love to do that! So I designed this Concentric Stars Cut File which you can grab for free on the SCT website HERE and I cut every star from a different Splendid patterned paper in a rainbow of colors. Before adhering all the layers together I machine stitched around each star with a basic running stitch and white thread. I LOVE the texture and interest this step adds.
On the background of a blue textured cardstock base I splattered white acrylic paint and blue mist droplets. Next came the large focal element (the concentric stars) and then the photos: I tucked one under the left side of the stars and added the second picture above on top of the stars. Both photos are 3x4". I made the title with the colorful mini foam Thickers in the center of the stars and pointed to it with an arrow from the Epoxy Stickers.
To embellish, I added pieces from the Cardstock Stickers, Epoxy Stickers, and 8-Page Sticker Book to mainly in two clusters close to the photos and then added the other cluster on the right side to balance everything happening on the left side. I used a very old star confetti punch to make mini stars from textured white cardstock then sprinkled them across the background along with colorful Enamel Dots and white enamel dots from my stash. To journal I cut a sticker in half and wrote with a blue pen to add into the two clusters.
