The One with The Cut Shoppe Guest Designer

Monday, October 6, 2014

Ashley Horton is so gosh dern talented. I've been fortunate enough to work with her at American Crafts for the last year+ and love seeing her amazing creations come into my inbox every month. She started a company called The Cut Shoppe a few months ago and designs some AMAZING cut files and printables. When she asked if I'd like to guest design for The Cut Shoppe I couldn't wait to pick which files to work with! I made two layouts and could have kept going I was so inspired by her cut files; I'll be saving 'em for a rainy day :)

Description: For this layout I chose the Right On Target cut file and die cut it from white cardstock. The little sections were just begging to be backed with patterned paper :)
Journaling says: Seriously, how did I get so lucky to have the cutest boy and girl in the world?

How to: Die cut the Right On Target cut file from white cardstock then back each section with patterned papers from the Nine & Co collection by Teresa Collins Designs. Trim the circle in half and adhere the halves on the edges of a robin's egg blue cardstock layout base. Add photos to the centers of the half circles then embellish with stickers, wood veneer, brads, die cuts, tags, chipboard, and more as shown. Use cork letters and a die cut sentiment to create the title along the curves. Stamp the date in black ink. Drop white spray mist over the title words. Journal on a banner die cut with a white pen and tuck it under the right photo.

Supplies: Target cut file: The Cut Shoppe; Die cut machine: Silhouette Cameo; Cardstock, adhesive, roller date stamp: American Crafts; Patterned paper, brads, chipboard, die cuts, wood veneer, tags, cork letters: Teresa Collins Designs; Pen: Uniball Signo; Spray mist: Studio Calico; Ink: StazOn

Description: In case you don't already know, I LOVE Halloween. Like, obsessed. So when Ashley released a set of Halloween-themed cut files and printables, I just HAD to create a spooky layout and chose the 8.5 x 11 Tangled Web cut file to work with.
Journaling says: No journaling on this layout. Man, I need to get better at remembering to do that!

How to: Die cut the 8.5 x 11 Tangled Web cut file from dark gray cardstock then adhere it on some vintage ad paper. Sew a spiral over each web using white thread and leave the ends long. Place three photos diagonally across the layout. Embellish the center of each web with spooky bits. Stamp the date in black ink below two photos. Drop India ink around the layout to finish.

Supplies: Webs cut file: The Cut Shoppe; Die cut machine: Silhouette Cameo; Patterned paper, wood veneer, cork, stickers, die cuts, sequins, adhesive, roller date stamp: American Crafts; Sewing machine: Brother; Thread: Coats & Clark; Ink: StazOn; India ink: ProArt
