Still loving my MINC machine and all of the fun things it can do!
For this "back to school"-themed layout (well, mine is loosely based on that theme since I don't have any printed photos of Fox going back to school and Jane hasn't started school yet... so, enter creativity!) I was inspired by these labels. Labels = organized = school, right? Sure :)
First step: #foilallthethings!
Mid-layout explosion. The only kind of mess I like! I clean up and put everything away after each layout I make, even if I have to take the pens and adhesive box right out again for a new assignment. Yes. I'm a little OCD.
The finished layout:
READY 4 SCHOOL by Paige Evans
DESCRIPTION: Back to school always conjures up apples in my mind's eye, so I designed an apple in Illustrator and then turned it into a cut file. These pics of Jane aren't of her going to school or anything, but she is SO ready for school - she has a tantrum every.single.time we drop and pick up Fox from preschool. Just a few more weeks then she gets to go to preschool too!
JOURNALING SAYS: Since you were two you've been wanting to go to school with Fox and the day is almost here - yay!
HOW TO: Die cut a apple from white cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo then trace it onto a blue ledger paper background (this is patterned paper that can be foiled! In this instance I just left it as is.) Foil all the labels in the package with seven different colors of foil. Use the labels along with other bits and pieces from Heidi Swapp collections (including other MINC'd things!) to fill in the traced apple with all those things. Place the die cut apple on top using foam adhesive. Add two photos, a title, and journaling. Trim off a bit of the right and bottom edges then replace with black striped paper.
SUPPLIES: Foiling machine, die cuts, wood veneer, badge, patterned paper, stickers: Heidi Swapp; Cardstock, pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Die cut machine: Silhouette Cameo
The MINC machine and accessories are available at Hobby Lobby, Jo-Ann, local stores, and online shops such as Studio Calico, Scrapbook.com, and Big Picture Classes. You know you want one :)
