The One with Kinnari's Book

Kinnari - the brains and talent behind Pinkfresh Studio - asked me to make her a book using the new Happy Things collection (I threw in a bit of Up in the Clouds too!) and here's how it turned out:

I started by painting two 4x6" wood boards aqua.

Then I trimmed papers from the Pinkfresh Studio collections into slightly smaller than 6x8", stacked three papers together, then folded them in half.

I made a template for drilling holes through the cover and then used the same template to pierce holes through all the signatures (groups of papers).

I sewed the book together using a Coptic style of binding and black thread, then I added buttons, puffy stickers, pearls, jewels, and more, as I went along.

I decorated the cover with a few embellishments to finish.

She can use this book for photos, journaling, mixed media projects, and more!

Hope she likes it!

  3. Love the colors! She will absolutely love it.....if she doesn't, you know where to find me. LOL! Question for you: if the pages were cut 6"x8", the sheets would be 3"x4" and the book covers are 4"x6"? One of these days, I would love to take a live bookbinding class from you!
