So happy to contribute a layout to Kerri Bradford Studio's "Playtime for Christmas"!

MERRY & BRIGHT by Paige Evans

DESCRIPTION: This layout was completely inspired by Kerri's snowflake cut file! I was itching for another stitching project and had a blast stitching this. Also, I know I use small photos a lot. My justification is this: scrapbooking for me is just as much about creating art as it is about preserving memories. I spend hours creating intricate backgrounds, I don't want to cover them up with large photos. So, I print my photos small and am still documenting important things whilst having fun creating them! That's my story and I'm sticking to it :)

JOURNALING SAYS: I love getting you dressed every day - it's like playing dress-up all over again and doing your hair, picking your shoes, and best of all - taking your picture!

HOW TO: Draw the snowflake with a pen onto patterned paper using a Silhouette Cameo. Using a paper piercer, poke a hole every 1/4" all the way around the snowflake. Backstitch through the snowflake using white thread. Hand cut patterned papers to fit inside the snowflake pieces. Layer a photo and embellishments in the center. Stamp the light strand on smooth white cardstock, cut out, and tuck under the photo. Stamp the "Merry & Bright" title onto smooth white cardstock, cut out, and adhere to the photo for the title. Embellish with wood veneer and die cuts then journal on a tag tucked under the photo.

SUPPLIES: Snowflake cut file, stamps: Kerri Bradford Studio; Patterned paper, wood veneer, die cuts: BasicGrey; Die cut machine: Silhouette Cameo; Thread: DMC photo Merry amp Bright Detail 2 by Paige Evans for blog.jpg
