Lorilei Murphy's Halloween Cut File Pages

Wednesday, October 4, 2017

Design team member Lorilei Murphy whipped up a WHOLE BUNCH of Halloween-themed layouts using my Silhouette cut files and I am so stinkin' excited to share them with you today!!!
I LOVE a big title! The Trick or Treat Yoself Design ID #222489 cut file is so much fun! I printed out some Crate Paper After Dark digital elements and papers and backed the letters in the cut file and then decorated with the elements. When I print out digital elements I will often try to pop them up and give them a little extra interest. I used a Heidi Swapp paper for a dark and bold background.
For the base of this design I used the Squares Background Design ID #216774. I cut the design down to only have 3 columns. Since I chose very bright and contrasting colors from Oh My Heart the grid helps everything feel less chaotic. I added one of the Haunted Houses Design ID #217953 for a cute focal point. It was a challenge to use a collection that wasn’t really meant for Halloween, but once I got going it was fun to find so many things that fit perfectly!
I love the Haunting Night Design ID #221106 cut file! I knew right away the painted stripe paper from Take Me Away would look great behind the words. I then picked out more bits from Take Me Away and added buttons to the o’s and a’s!
This layout uses the fabulous Hocus Pocus Design ID #220851 cut file. I used Turn the Page to decorate the layout. You really can use almost any collection for Halloween! The bright, fun colors add plenty of pop and style! The washi tape book from Turn the Page has 12″ long pieces of washi which are excellent for borders!
For this layout I cut a bunch of of the Pumpkin Trio Design ID #222474 cut files. I used a mix of Oh My Heart and the Crate Paper After Dark digital collection. I thought it would be fun to make a spooky clothesline with lots of banners and tags - socks are Halloweenish right? I added some glue spots and sprinkled rose gold glitter for the top of the background and added some green/yellow paint as well!
I was excited about the possibilities with the Spider Web Background Design ID #216762 cut file! I printed out some elements from Crate Paper After Dark digital collection and I also used some paper clips from Take Me Away and decided to use a column design to keep everything tidy!
