Super Explorer Layout

Hi scrappy friends! I'm kicking off another week of Wild Child fun on the Pink Paislee blog! I mixed and matched the entire collection to create this layout about my wild children.
First I die cut my Stars Star Cut File from textured white cardstock. I thought about backing each individual star with a different patterned paper, but I knew that would take hours so I sifted through the papers and hoped one would be colorful and fun and still create an awesome effect. Success! The rainbow and clouds striped paper from the boy papers worked perfectly! I simply popped up the star with some dimensional adhesive and then trimmed around it. Now to find a background...
For the background paper I used the corresponding rainbow stripes paper from the girl patterns. I LOVE all the bright colors! I thought about doing a mixed media background but decided there was enough color going on and to keep it simple. Sometimes simple is okay (I need to repeat this to myself more often, ha!)
Next came my photo - I chose a silly picture of Fox & Jane - perfect for this Wild Child collection! They're just being their funny selves and the colors went perfectly with the papers I had chosen. On the upper left side of the photo, since there wasn't anything too important going on there, I decided to create a cascading title using die cuts, stickers, and Thickers. After that I added some star and heart puffy stickers, chipboard stickers, and paper stickers all around, mostly sticking with the color-on-color technique. I finished off the layout with some coordinating hand stitching around the star to define that shape and journaled inside one of the clouds. I hope you are inspired to use the adorable, fun, and playful Wild Child collection on your next layout!
