Five Years Later Layout by Kim Jeffress

Wednesday, August 8, 2018

Hi everyone! It's Kim Jeffress here today with a new layout! My oldest son aged 11 has had a special friend for over 5 years. She is the sweetest girl and I wanted to celebrate their little friendship. As I was searching through Paige’s cut files I came across the Valentine Banner and I thought it was perfect. I wanted to create a tone-on-tone feel to my layout so I cut the banner out of white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo and then layered it over another piece of white cardstock, lifting the banner with some foam tape for dimension and shadows. I created a border under my white cardstock with Paper 23 from the Turn the Page collection. I love the ombre feel to the patterned paper.
I then added my title using some yellow Thickers I had in my stash, running the letters across the top of my banner for a fun effect.
Next I added word stickers from the Crate Paper Oasis collection amongst the banner pieces for a fun feel. I then added my photos underneath the banner, raising one of them with foam tape. I placed one of the photos over the "Be Mine" wording as I didn’t want that part in my layout before laying the paper frame from the Turn the Page Journaling Spots pack. I added my journaling strips at the bottom of my layout.
To finish I added some hand stitching in a coordinating color at the top of my layout for a touch of whimsy!
Thanks for joining me here today, I can’t wait to share my next layout with you!
