I love me some cankles: The area in affected female legs where the calf meets the foot in an abrupt, nontapering terminus; medical cause: adipose tissue surrounding the soleus tendon, probably congenital, worsened by weight gain and improved in appearance only by boots (haha, that makes me laugh). From the English "calf" meaning wide portion of the lower leg, and "ankle" meaning slender joint of leg with foot.
I've outgrown my pants, my shirts, my garments, and my bra (woohoo!). I guess it was only a matter of time before I outgrew my shoes too. This is one pregnancy symptom I was not prepared for! I, like my Grandma Cathie, LOVE SHOES. It was one of my first words as a baby, I have three racks full of them, and I've even made a mini album completely dedicated to each and every pair of shoes I had at the time. I don't spend much money on my shoes, the most I've shelled out is probably $60 or so. Usually I'm a Target or Payless kind of shoe gal. One interesting thing to note: I don't wear sandals. I wish I could. See, I have a disease called Hyperhydrosis which basically means I sweat ridiculously excessive amounts from my hands and feet so to absorb the sweat I have to wear socks, which means no sandals for me cuz socks with sandals is like a big fashion no-no :) The sweating is 1000 times worse when it's hot, which it currently is in So Cal. So heat makes me sweat and swell and pregnancy itself causes my feet to blow up like balloons. Hence my size 8 to 8.5 closet of shoes no longer fits. Waaaaahhhhh.

Yeah, not even close....
Even these new shoes that I got at Target a couple weeks ago are super painful to wear because that bridge at the top digs into my feet.

These are the shoes I wore to church today, or rather, wore from the house to the car, from the car to church, and between meetings when I had to walk.

Whenever I sat down the first thing I did was take my shoes off.
The only pair of shoes that fits me comfortably is this pair I got in Washington last week:

They're nice because they have holes all through them which lets the air flow and reduces swelling.
Moral of the story: tomorrow I'm going to Target and getting me a size 10 pair of shoes and I'll probably wear them every day for the next 89 days!
