I read about Unique LA on Amy's blog and made up my mind to go today.
I was thinkin', oh, I'll just be there for an hour or two, la di da, I'm sure I'll be able see everything by then... Boy was I mistaken! This event was GINORMOUS! I could have spent at least 24 hours perusing everything. But alas, I had a 20 pound baby in one arm and a 10 pound purse in the other (mother's should grow a third arm while pregnant IMHO) so I withdrew after only two short hours. Here's a little recap of the things I saw that inspired me during my brief visit.

I think one of my top three favorite booths was Magnetic Grain.
All of their wood blocks are magnetized so they stick together in any arrangement you want and they make really cool pieces of art.

These paper flowers were made with the long retired Metropolitan line by American Crafts. Funny!
I like the booth signage: big mylar balloons.
Perhacs had some really cool inventions. Too small to see here, but you can see and read more on their website. Perhacs is a sustainably minded multi-disciplinary design studio based in the Pacific Northwest (holler!).
My favorite Perhacs thing was this beaker system that's magnetized on the bottom (apparently I'm really into magnetized stuff lately...) so they can be arranged every which way.

The event was packed by the time I left. I was hoping to run into at least one famous person, but no such luck. Maybe next time!
Unique LA is like Etsy but in real life. It's like CHA, but instead of scrapbooking it's anything and everything you could ever dream of that people have made. Heaven on earth!
