The One with Home Sweet Home Day 4

My parents got a miniature Australian Shepherd puppy a few months ago and named her Gypsy and she and I have bonded. She goes c-RAZY when she sees me. Granted I egg her on a bit, as witnessed in this video:
She has one blue eye and one brown eye.
Photobucket
She looks so innocent, but believe you me she's actually a worse dog than Joey, which I didn't think was possible :)

Tip-Toe is going to be 18 years this year. EIGHTEEN!
Photobucket
I may not have a green thumb when it comes to plants, but I do have a green thumb when it comes to animals. If that makes any sense at all. I once had a goldfish live for 8 years. It even jumped out of its tank in the middle of the night and survived after being "beached" for over 5 hours.

This afternoon we loaded up and drove to Seattle.

Hi Allie! You're so pretty! Love you!

First stop: lunch at Mae Phim for Thai food.
Photobucket
Photobucket
They have the best Thai food of any place I've ever tried anywhere. 5 out of 5 stars. I get the Mae Phim Special. It's some kind of curry with chicken and cashews.
Photobucket
Panang chicken is also divine. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Seattle. Holes in the wall places always have the best food don't they?

Then we drove up to Pacific Place Mall and noticed there was an exceptionally large amount of weirdies out. I guess there was some kind of comicon convention going on.

Check out this funktacular chair that was in a display.

Downtown.

Street musician.
Photobucket
You can't really tell in this photo, but this storefront was lined with vintage sewing machines.
Photobucket
Which store did this come from? Give you three guesses and the first two don't count.
Photobucket
Anthropologie always turns the most ordinary things, like dishtowels, into irresistible commodities.
Photobucket
I'm always intrigued by the works of ever changing art lining the stairway up to the second level.
Photobucket
Then we went to the Kirkland Costco - the very first Costco ever to open don't ya know.
Photobucket
Now we're watching more Modern Family and I'm doing some work. Multitasking!

The One with Home Sweet Home Day 3

As of today, Fox has been on 6 airplanes, visited 5 different states, seen all three living sets of his great-grandparents, and been in 1 car accident (not our fault, keep reading!).

This morning we loaded up the baby and supplies for the day and headed south to Portland.
Photobucket
The I-5 goes all the way down to our neck of the woods in SoCal. We've done that drive before. 18 hours!
Photobucket
Fox slept for the first two hours. He loves his paci...
Photobucket
Fox has now seen all three sets of his living great-grandparents!
Fox and Great-Grandpa J.

Fox and Great-Grandma Marge.
Photobucket
Then Bethany and Peter showed up with their new baby, my niece/Fox's cousin, Evelynd.
Photobucket
We let them interact and mingle and it was really cute.
Photobucket
Fox tried to hold hold Ev's hand.
Photobucket
Five months makes a big difference in size!
Photobucket
She's so precious.
Photobucket
Peter loves his daughter!

Holding their great-grandchildren.

So fun to see Chris' grandparents, Bethany, Peter, Evelynd, and Oregon!

Five minutes after we left to head back to Seattle we were at a red light and got rear-ended. The noise and impact really scared Fox and he started crying, poor baby. Apparently the woman who hit us was reaching for her grocery bag that had slipped onto the floor and she wasn't looking.
Photobucket
My parent's car got damaged pretty good, her car didn't even have a scratch. I hate car accidents. They really scare me and I always shake incessantly afterwards for like an hour.

Bye-bye Portland! See you next time!

On the way home we made a quick detour to see Stadium High School - the high school where 10 Things I Hate About You was filmed. Love that movie. The sun was shining (miracle in-and-of itself!) just so and lit up the school all pretty like. If you get a chance to read the link to wikipedia about Stadium High School, you should, it's quite interesting.
Photobucket
Wouldn't it be so cool to go to school here?
Photobucket
Photobucket

Photobucket
Then we went inside.
Photobucket
Photobucket
What a view from the windows across the water!
Photobucket
Photobucket
Stage?
Photobucket
Looking down the stairwell.
Photobucket
What high school bathroom has only one stall and little shelves with toiletries?
Photobucket
Back outside we went.
Photobucket
We wanted to go down and re-enact the scene where Heath Ledger sings to Julia Stiles on the stands, but it was gated off.
Photobucket
Then we enjoyed the sunset as we finished the drive back to Redmond.

Fun day!
