Love You to Pieces Layout

As soon as I got my first Oh My Heart box in the mail (and after dancing around the house a bit ;) I got straight to work making pages for my booth at CHA!

LOVE YOU TO PIECES by Paige Evans

DESCRIPTION: There are TWO papers in Oh My Heart that have a bunch of different squares of different patterns! Those are my favorite to use, especially when I teach classes, because you get a whole lotta bang for your buck! It looks like you use so many different papers, but really, you just used one. Genius :)

JOURNALING SAYS: Even though you're 4.5 years old it seems like I'm always carrying you! Haha! Well, it is much faster to get from point A to B if I hold you and you let me so I'm gonna keep on!

HOW TO: Prime a white cardstock background with a layer of modeling paste and let it dry. Watercolor (matching the colors of Paper 24) stripes down the center of the page. Once the watercolors are dry, whitewash over it with white acrylic paint, and let it dry. Free hand cut a long title from the patterns of Paper 24 then figure out where you want them. Stitch each row of letters in place and gently bend up the letters for dimension. Adhere three photos and embellish the centers of the open letters with chipboard flowers and a heart. At the beginning or end of each row, stamp a matching colored trio of hearts.

Scrapbook & Cards Today Creative Team

There is nothing better than sitting down with a brand new issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine, flipping through the pages (and even smelling them, am I right?!), and getting inspired! Love Sweet Life Layout by Missy Whidden

Missy Whidden is back today to share her second layout for my design team using mostly Fancy Free! She also made a process video which, if you're like me, you loooooove watching those! It's so inspiring to see how her mind works and exactly how she creates such intricate pages!

Hello again, scrappy friends! Missy back today to share a fun layout using the Fancy Free collection with a little bit of Take Me Away added in. I can’t get enough of bright colors and I love combining them all together. As I sorted through the Fancy Free patterned papers, Paper 09 jumped out at me. I knew I wanted to create some fun banners out of all those half circles, so I fussy cut a lot of them out. I arranged them several times before I found a design I liked and used the Paper 10 as my background. I went over the background with white gesso and then used some blue, aqua, pink, and coral ink sprays to create the pretty watercolor effect. Once I glued down all the half circles, I machine stitched through each row using dark gray thread. I embellished with some fussy cut flowers, dimensional stickers, chipboard, mirror letter stickers, and some buttons.

I love the dimension of the half circles! After I stitched them down I ruffled up the edges so they would look more realistic. I fussy cut these beautiful flowers from one of the papers in the Fancy Free 6x6 Paper Pad and added some foam under them. I layered in some tangled thread, a button, and a cute heart die cut. You can also see the awesome dimension created from the chipboard.

I added more fussy cut flowers here by the photo as well. Behind my photo I layered some tissue paper, a few tags from Fancy Free and a Take Me Away die cut frame. I love how the colors of the background look mixed with all these bright colors from the embellishments and paper. I added in an acetate die cut from Fancy Free here also. I went pretty simple with the background work up at the top since the rest of the page had so much going on.

I had so much fun putting this together! I hope you gained some inspiration from it. Don’t be afraid to fussy cut your patterned papers and throw lots of colors together!

Live Life in Full Bloom Layout

Sharing a new layout made with my Pink Paislee Oh My Heart collection today!

LIVE LIFE IN FULL BLOOM by Paige Evans

DESCRIPTION: I needed a stitching project to work on during our drive down to Italy and back so this is what I came up with! Sorry there isn't a process video for this one - next time for sure!!

JOURNALING SAYS: So lucky to be your mom and call you mine! You help me realize the true purpose of my life and I love you!

HOW TO: Die cut a modified Live Life in Full Bloom cut file from the B side of Paper 18 then use spray adhesive to affix it at an angle to robin's egg blue cardstock that has been smudged with white paint. Carefully pierce holes around the die cut then back stitch using white thread to add texture and detail. Adhere a trio of photos at the same angle below the title. Place washi tape strips under the photos along with a foiled floral die cut. Place a chipboard floral sticker and foiled floral sticker (I stuck it on a transparency first then fussy cut it out to make a "die cut") on the left. Create a cluster on the right with an ampersand chipboard sticker, "whole lotta lovely" chipboard sentiment sticker, "Happy" ticket sticker, and a small piece of washi. Journal above the title and add a transparency foiled hearts sticker below.

Pink Paislee Fussy Cutting Layout

LOVE YOU by Paige Evans

DESCRIPTION: This is one of those layouts that did a 180 on me and looks nothing like I had pictured in my mind's eye at the beginning - and that's OK! I thought about using the big and beautiful flowers from Paper 02 in the Moonstruck collection, but changed my mind mid-way. Watch the process video below to see how this page came to be!

JOURNALING SAYS: You are such a sweet and sassy and spunky girl! Who taught you to pose like this?! I don't even know but it's hilarious and so cute!

HOW TO: Fussy cut the hearts from Paper 06. Paint slightly larger hearts across a light grey textured cardstock background - let dry. Use a sewing machine and straight stitch down the center of each heart to attach them in place permanently then bend up the edges for dimension and texture. Layer a pair of photos vertically on the right edge and create a photo cluster with die cut cards, a title, pieces of doily, more fussy cut images, etc. Write journaling on a banner die cut and tuck it underneath the photos. Place fussy cut phrases between the hearts and a couple puffy stickers to finish.

Tell us about you! My name is Stefanie and I'm a wife, mommy of a 4-year-old girl, family photographer, and lover of summer. We live in a small village in the southern part of Germany and I enjoy living here. I love the quietness and natural countryside. And for me, it’s the perfect place to be creative. After my daughter was born in 2012 I was looking for ideas to create albums about her first year and I found some great scrapbooking pages. I was totally amazed by all those talented scrapbookers. I love to play with all the beautiful patterned papers, embellishments, and watercolors. My layouts, mini albums, and photos are mostly about my daughter, our travels, and the little moments in my life.

What are some of your scrapbooking accomplishments? Since 2014 I have been on the design team for Scrapbook Werkstatt. Past design teams include In The Scrap and Papierprojekt. I have guest designed for Maggie Holmes, Gossamer Blue, Citrus Twist Kits, Studio Calico, Sweet Möma, ScrapbookExpo, CSI Color Stories Inspiration, Scrapideesleblog, and studioescrap. I teach mini book classes at Big Picture Classes. I was contributor in classes by Wilna Furstenberg and Catherine Davis at Studio Calico. Likewise, I was contributor for In The Scrap (an online workshop) and for Citrus Twist Kits. I have had projects published in Jot Magazine and “"Idées Créa Cartes et Scrap"!
Do you have any other hobbies, if so, what are they and why do you enjoy them? Photography! I have loved taking photos since my childhood. My dad showed me how. He photographed a lot in his childhood and also developed the pictures himself. Our bathroom was the photo studio. If I am not being creative or photographing, I like to do sports. But this year I hardly had time for it. I will change this in the new year. I hope :)
5 fun and random facts about Steffi:
1. I'm obsessed with sequins! You can find them on the most of my projects. I love them in all colors!
2. My daughter loves to make my hair beautiful with hair-slides and hair-clips. Once when I went to the super market with them in my hair people said to me, “What a nice hairstyle you have!”.
3. Tom Hanks is my favorite actor and I love any and all movies with him. Who doesn’t love Forrest Gump?
4. I love to listen movie soundtracks during my scrapbooking sessions (ok, and to eat chocolate!)
5. I like reading travel books and stories about people who made a world trip. That would be a dream for me.
Hello and welcome to my very first post. I am very excited and very happy to be on the design team of the amazing Paige. Yay! I made a layout with the beautiful collections Fancy Free and Take Me Away. The colorful buttons are my favorites. They are so very cute. Also I love sewing on paper. Therefore, I wanted to incorporate both on the layout. The photo of my daughter was taken in the snow during our vacation in November at the Grand Canyon. We were totally surprised to see so much snow. We had lots of fun together. I selected a light background, Fancy Free Paper 10, and small colorful color dots as an eye-catcher. The great embellishments from Paige's collections fit perfectly into this winter fun layout.



As a background I used a turquoise paper with white cardstock on top. First I chose the embellishments. These should be as small and round as possible. The buttons fit perfectly. For the title, I have cut the "Love This" embroidery hoop out of a paper from Take Me Away. I embroidered this with sewing thread for the title.

Also with sewing thread, I wrapped the small, round Wood Veneer. On the back I attached mini glue dots to keep the thread in place.

In order to achieve a 3D effect, I created a ball out of cut out paper circles. Three paper circles were folded in the middle and sewn with the sewing machine on the cardstock later.

I created a smaller 3D ball with two stamped paper circles. For this I used the Roller Stamp from the Take Me Away Collection.

I arranged the embellishments and the photo on the white cardstock. Just as I like it. Then I added machine stitching and the other embellishments and the photo glued to the lines.

I wrote the journaling on the background with a typewriter. For that I had previously sketched on the paper the area. And lastly, I attached the sewn white cardstock with 3D glue dots.

I hope you liked my first project and are inspired to create a winter layout with the great collections from Paige! With their bright colors they fit perfectly to any season and occasion!

Oh My Heart Collection + Giveaway!

Starting off the new year revealing my new scrapbooking collection with Pink Paislee called Oh My Heart!

This line was inspired by "messy buns and getting things done" - the "cool mom" life, if you will :)

I've been having a total blast making layouts, mini albums, coptic books, and more with Oh My Heart! The burst of inspiration and ideas that comes when a box of my goodies arrives makes me wish there were 100 hours in each day so I could scrap scrap and scrap (cooking? what's that?!)!!

I LOVE TO READ BOOKS by Paige Evans

DESCRIPTION: One of my very favorite papers in this collection is full of BOOKS! I couldn't wait to fussy cut them all out and use them on a page about how much I love to read.

JOURNALING SAYS: My newest favorite author is Jilliane Hoffman - both books I've read by her were super good and fast reads! Can't wait to read all her books! (Update - I have now read three of her six books and I've LOVED all three!!)

HOW TO: Fussy cut the books from Paper 15. Die cut a large "READ" title from cream cardstock then sew around each letter using a different color of thread. Use the die cut page as a template to trace the letters onto white cardstock then fill in the drawn letters with the books. Adhere the die cut page on top using dimensional adhesive. Add a pair of photos and a title. Fold over the top right corner (like a doggie eared book page!), replace the folded corner with a piece of patterned paper, then journal below. Drop watercolors around the page and stamp "to do" under the journaling to finish.

Tell us about you! I am Flóra Mónika Farkas. I graduated with a Masters degree in Andragogy. I am Hungarian but I live in Slovenia with my fiance. We are a young couple working on fulfilling our dreams. I have been scrapbooking since 2014 and creating layouts since 2015. I am grateful for this hobby and to belong to this worldwide community. 

How did you get started scrapbooking and what do you love about it? One day I was surfing on YouTube and found Kristina Werner and her card videos. I also explored Sizzix and I was totally amazed by that crafty world. In the beginning I made cards, but later I found an online scrapbook workshop and through this I made my first mini album for my mother. Lately I have started to create scrapbook layouts and they became my "areas of expertise". I love to print out the photos and create something physical for myself and for the posterity. I love to time travel via documenting sweet  memories. I really miss my family as we live 435 miles away, but when I am working on a layout, I can bring back the time we spent together. And of course I LOVE all the pretty things that belong to scrapbooking :)

What are some of your scrapbooking accomplishments? I was a guest designer at Pink Pialsee, Crate Paper, and the Like For Ever blog in 2016. I am a design team member of Altenew, Hip Kit Club, and The Cut Shoppe. I have taught in Hungary and Slovakia and I became a teacher for Altenew Academy in 2016. I have been published in Jot Magazine and was highlighted in Issue 14.

Do you have any other hobbies, if so, what are they and why do you enjoy them? Lately I have spent all my free time with scrapbooking. When I need to switch off we travel around Europe or relax on the Croatian seaside. If our time permits we love to cook together.

5 fun and random facts about Flóra:

1. I am in love with seafood.

2. My mother is my best friend. 

3. I have a small orchid collection. I especially like to buy the discounted overblown ones and give them a second chance.

4. My fiance says I am a good cook. I hope so! 

5. I have been afraid of dogs since Füli arrived to our family.

Hi there! It's Flóra here with my very first project as a Paige Evans Design Team member. This time of the year I like to think back and collect the best and most important moments of the past year. I got an idea from the #2016bestnine hashtag so I created a grid design with nine 2x2" photos. For the base I used Take Me Away Paper 15. I cut apart Take Me Away Paper 07 and placed the colorful square as a layer under the photos. This squared patchwork patterned paper is so cool, I love that I don't need to destroy lots of papers just for a small scraps.
After I adhered the photos with foam tape I embellished each with many fun elements. I love to mix the Take Me Away and Fancy Free embellishments as they coordinate perfectly. I added lots of die cuts from Take Me Away Ephemera Die Cuts pack and Epoxy Paper Clips, Fabric Bows, Buttons, Chipboard Stickers as well.


For the title I used Take Me Away Carefree Alpha Stickers and Fancy Free Fancy Glittered Foam Thickers. To keep the balance I scattered more teal glittered foam shapes all over the page. I always like to add glitter, it makes my projects sparkle!

I hope you like my first project made with Pink Paislee Paige Evans goodies! I really like the result as it turned out so fun and colorful as my past year.

Oh My Heart Coptic Book

I made another coptic book! What can I say, it's an addicting craft! This time I used my new Oh My Heart collection which should be revealing at Pink Paislee oh so soon!

The covers are made from painted wood. I tried to match them to the deep blues/greens in the papers.

I have been wanting charms since my first collection just for this purpose and what-do-ya-know, "3rd time's a charm!" I get charms in my 3rd collection, so that phrase is quite literal in this sense!

I used all of the patterned papers in Oh My Heart and also matched 12 colors of cardstock.

To contrast with the teal covers I used a light pink thread to stitch the book together.

The book lays flat when it's open so it's really easy to use!

On the front I layered a piece of washi, floral chipboard, and "THE GOOD LIFE" chipboard sticker.

I kept the knick-knacks pretty simple this time and only used 8 of the 9 heart charms that come in the pack. Super cute :)

The finished book is 4x6" and I'm planning to add a photo a day for the year along with journaling and stamping/coloring, etc!

I super love making these books, they bring me so much joy!
