The One with Vintage Photos

Saturday, February 19, 2011

My dad is scanning all the pictures in our family's magnetic albums and uploading them to Picasa so they can be stored for time and all eternity. He sent me a link to the album and I've been busting a gut at some of them and also enjoying the memories and loving the glimpse into my parent's lives pre-kids, so on and so forth. I'm super sentimental. I also love that none of these pictures are photoshopped - they are naturally aged and have "the vintage look" that lots of people strive to achieve with actions. Just put your photos in magnetic albums for 20-some-odd-years and it'll happen naturally!

  1. Isn't it so fun to look at old photos? My grandma and I just went through all the magnetic albums at her house and it was so fun to look at her and my grandpa pre-kids, and my mom as a little girl. Love it! (Oh, and I'm pretty sure I had the same lunchbox... :) )

  3. Yes, it is fun to look at old photos and see how things have changes. I always like to see the cars and tv's and such, as much as the people!

  5. these pictures are so fun. Serious. I really enjoyed looking at them. I like how you wrote, "my sister, I mean mom" because I was totally thinking your sister looks just like your mom did. You kind of do too though. But like you said, they are pretty much clones.

  6. Pailge, the first picture of me was taken in Israel in 1981. 2nd pic: I asked the hairdresser to perm my hair in the smallest rollers. When she was finished, I realized I meant to say the LARGEST rollers. Yikes! And cut me some slack on the polka-dot dress. It was the 80's! Fun post!

  7. Oh, and YOU are in my tummy in those pics of me and the kittens. You were born two weeks after that picture was taken.
