Bookbinding at Stephanie's

Wednesday, May 17, 2017

The last Saturday in April I taught a bookbinding class at my friend Stephanie Buhl's house!
Stephanie put so much thought and effort into organizing the class and making it feel welcome and cozy.
She turned her living room into a full-on workshop!
I filled a cart with example books, a piercing tray and tools, and some wood boards for sale.
After sanding and painting the cover boards, folding and piercing the papers, then attaching the first signature to the front cover, we took a lunch break. I could spend allll day in Stephanie's scrap room! That wall color alone is divine!

Stephanie is a Stampin' Up demonstrator and has so many cute examples all around her room.
So organized! Some day I will have my own room for scrap supplies! A girl can dream can't she?? :)
I pulled open a drawer and found a bunch of cute stamps!
Stephanie made my favorite traditional Bavarian dish for lunch: käsespätzle (an off-the-chain mac'n'cheese :)
Back to work!
I make a book too while teaching and gifted this one to fellow scrapbooker Zsoka Marko.
Honie was the youngest attendee and put us all to shame with how fast she was, ha!
Bowls of threads for stitching and buttons for decorating.
Making progress!
Stephanie's finished book! I love how she decorated the cover. We all used my Pink Paislee Oh My Heart collection.
My favorite part of every bookbinding workshop is lining all the books up in a row and seeing them together!
Afterwards we went outside and Stephanie's husband used his new drone to take a picture of us all with our books.
It was such a fun day of teaching and laughing and creating! If you're interested in learning how to make these coptic books, I have an online class in my etsy shop, or if you want to learn how to make them in person, request to have me teach at your local craft store or workplace :) I LOVE teaching!
