Trio of Baby Cards by Kelly Daye

Hello friends, it’s Kelly Daye and today I’m sharing a trio of baby cards I’ve made with Truly Grateful! It’s such a beautiful thing watching our friend' children grow up to be wonderful young parents. It’s been a year full of happy baby announcements and that inspired my card making today.
All of my cards are 6x6" with bases made from white cardstock. The glittered borders on each card are made by sprinkling glitter onto double sided tape. It’s just that easy to add a bit of sparkle! Two of my cards are top folding and one is a box card that folds flat for mailing. It’s a sweet bunny in the garden with a message for the new arrival, “Hello Baby”.

The bunny, cut from Paper 04, is from Paige’s delightful Baby Animals cut file with an offset (at .85) of the same cut file from white cardstock. The white off-set is where I pierced holes for stitching. The bunny nose is an up-side-down heart enamel sticker in the Mixed Embellishments. I think it’s the perfect little nose, don’t you? Look! A little bird Puffy Sticker has landed on his head. Colourful & floral Paper 15 makes the perfect garden. Naturally, this garden bunny loves to hop through flowers, all from the Floral Die Cuts. I used my fringe scissors to fashion grass from Paper 20 and rather than the fringe hanging down, I flipped it up. It’s also the perfect place to pop in my ‘HELLO’ greeting from the Ephemera Die Cuts and a couple more flowers.

Next up, a sparkly shaker card filled with sequins from the collection and a pinch of gold sequins too. I used Paige’s Layered Hearts cut file and a pretty foiled paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad. The gorgeous 12x12 Specialty Paper, also foiled, provided the pretty outline around the heart. How adorable is the little bear? He’s also from Paige’s Baby Animals cut file. Once again, I chain stitched using the same method as the card above. It’s all popped up with foam tape over Paper 23.  ‘WELCOME’ is pieced together with letters from the Puffy Phrase Stickers. A couple of flowers accented with Puffy Sticker leaves add even more colour, detail, and texture. Oh my gosh, I really love these colours so much!

Finally, my last card was inspired by our sweet Paige. Have you seen her stunning layouts made by tucking a whole bunch of flowers into one side of each letter? They’re always so beautiful and I’ve been smitten by the technique for a long time. So I began with Paige’s Baby cut file cut from white cardstock and chain stitched with lots of pretty colours pulled from Paper 09 which lays beneath the cut file. I cut the same file again, leaving out the inside details of the letters. It’s all taped together in place over the card front, leaving room to tuck in the tiny leaves I fussy cut from paper in the 6x8 Paper Pad. I added a bit of sparkle with a few punched gold leaves. I topped it all off with a few Puffy Stickers. I’ve been saving that little puffy pink bunny for something extra special and I’m so glad I did! It’s really very nice you came by, thank you!
