Hi everyone! Hope your day is going great! Here is the second of my two layouts that appeared in the Summer 2021 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine which you can download and browse for free! I created this page with Wonders and my Layered Flowers & Leaves cut file.
I started by spending a few hours creating the flowers. I pulled all of the mostly solid 12x12 patterned papers from Wonders as well as papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad. Each flower is about 2". I added an extra step of pinching/creasing/folding all of the petals and leaves to give them more lifelike texture and then adhered the layers together with liquid glue.
For the colorful border, I used Paper 22 and trimmed a 1" frame. I adhered an 11" square piece of textured white cardstock to the center and machine stitched around the edges with white thread. I splashed blue watercolors on top. Then I trimmed a smaller square of textured white cardstock, framed it with a smaller piece of Paper 22, and machine stitched the papers to the center of the layout.
I added a photo to the middle, placed "wonderful you" Epoxy Phrase Stickers at the top and bottom of the photo in white space, and added a tab Chipboard Sticker with the date written on it above. I placed the flowers and leaves on opposite corners of the page and then tucked the leaves into the mix. To finish I wrote journaling with a blue pen nestled into the bottom right section of flowers.
