Hello scrappy friends! Phil Donahue here back on Paige's blog celebrating the official end-of-summer with a bright and colorful rainbow layout! For this layout I used elements from Paige's Blooming Wild collection along with her Play Outside cut file! The phrase and sunburst in this cut file perfectly accented the photos of my niece playing in the park.
I used Paper 11 as the main background - the colorful floral perfectly reflects the summer vibes from the photos. After cutting the Play Outside from white cardstock I backed the letters with the rainbow side of Paper 22 cut from the center of the page. I adhered the backed cut file in the center of the page using liquid glue to more easily adjust and center it. Using the remainder of the rainbow page I recut the file and added the sunbursts to the page using adhesive foam to elevate them from the paper. I had a tough time finding a place for the four photos I wanted to feature but ultimately decided to feature them in the title of the cut file! I chose the letters with the most surface area and again cut each to place over the four letters. Each photo was placed near a specific set of colors which inspired me to use one of my favorite embellishment techniques: tone-on-tone! I backed each photo with coordinating flowers from the Floral Die Cuts then added foam adhesive to each and placed them on top of each letter in the title. I added more tone-on-tone embellishments to each photo cluster including items from the Cardstock Stickers, Mini Flower Puffy Stickers, and fussy cut butterflies from Paper 16. Final touches were adding coordinating enamel dots and splatters of white acrylic paint around areas of embellishments.
I hope you found some inspiration from this layout and choose to try Paige's Play Outside cut file and Blooming Wild collection for your end-of-summer photos! Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day!
