Hello crafty friends! Antonia Sherlock here with my very first layout as a member of Paige’s design team! So exciting! I created a layout documenting summer days out which, for me, are all about pretty English gardens. I had some photos of me with an awesome floral backdrop and when I saw Paige's Happy Haven collection, I knew it would be perfect for documenting those summer memories.
I often scrapbook using an A4 format which is similar to the 8.5x 1 sizing. The beauty of this is that I can use both sides of a patterned paper on the same layout! This comes really handy when both sides of a patterned paper are equally awesome, which was the case with Paper 1 – the floral side was the perfect theme for my photos and the striped pattern on the other side was perfect to break up the business of the floral pattern. I wanted to draw attention to the beautiful details of the patterned paper, so I decided to stitch some of the flowers. I stitched around the pink floral clusters and I used French knots for the centers – I like how this added extra detail and dimension. I created three embellishment clusters using the Cardstock Stickers and the Journaling Die Cuts. I trimmed the layout slightly and I backed it with royal blue cardstock - this created a crisp, contrasting edge and also harmonized so well with the photos.
