October 2025 Highlights

Saturday, November 1, 2025

Here's a look back at our October 2025!
We decked the halls with all our usual spooky decor.
We got this fun Lego wreath which I assembled in my copious amounts of spare time ;)
Speaking of Legos, one of my favorite decorations is our haunted house Lego display.
We didn't add anything else new, just the same ol' goodies!
Every Tuesday Fox, Jane, and I (and sometimes Amy & Sandy) would sit down and watch Halloween Baking Championship and Halloween Wars.
Tacos for dinner. Yum.
Need.
Spooky Ring cameras?! Yes please! But I didn't get any, $200 each is just much too much lol.
I have two drawers full of Halloween clothes :)
This year we got our annual family photos taken by Lindsay Barlow Photography. Check out all our family photos for 2025 HERE.
We met her close to Chris's work at Jackass Hill and it was a beautiful sunset over the Rocky Mountains. We love how they turned out!
I took a photo of our photographer :)
And we took our own selfie.
The first Saturday in October was the only Saturday in all of October I was home so we drove up to Estes Park.
It was a beautiful day as it so often is in Colorado.
I spy the Stanley Hotel.
We saw a bunch of people crowded around a herd of elk so we had to check them out too.
So cool!
Our family in Estes Park on Saturday October 4th 2025.
Walking around downtown.
I wanted one of everything inside this Christmas store which had a corner dedicated to Halloween.
Stanley Hotel chocolate factory coming soon!
Beautiful main street.
Flowers still hanging on.
We had lunch reservations at the Stanley Hotel so off we went!
The maze in the front has grown much taller since the last time we were here.
Straight out of The Shining!
Lunch was... not good. It was so much better last time we ate here! I swear the meat in my sandwich was not beef, it tasted super yucky and gamey, I think it was elk...
But anyway, we still had fun walking around!
Love all the tributes to The Shining.
After lunch we walked around the grounds for a bit.
Until next time!
We watched The Shining with Fox & Jane (I made sure to fast forward over some parts).
GO BRONCOS!!!!
Holy moly we beat the Eagles and then had one of the biggest comebacks in NFL history against the Giants.
What a time to be a fan!!
Love seeing the Broncos logo so high up on this list! Nix will get us to Super Bowl Lix!
My nail tech's wife also works at the same salon and he did her nails epically.
This was the photo I brought in for inspiration.
Nailed it. I'm so pleased!
Go me!
We had to check out the Stranger Things merch at Target.
Fox turned 15!!! He's going to get his driver's permit next month, heaven help me.
I took the kids to Mod Pizza on Fox's birthday for lunch.
As we do every Fall Break, we went to Disneyland! Find the recap HERE.
We went full on Stranger Things for our Halloween costumes!!
I was Vecna.
Chris was Eddie.
Jane and Fox were Robin and Steve.
We cute :) Errrr... at least Fox & Jane are cute!
Off to the trunk-or-treat at Fox's high school!
Such a gorgeous sunset.
It was really hard to see and breathe through the Vecna mask but I survived.
It was really cold so we only went to a few cars but it was fun to be recognized and everyone is so excited for season 5 in a few weeks.
We got reservations to Casa BOOnita!
So iconic.
Details from Casa BOOnita.
We had our own little private casita area, even though we didn't get the premium seats! So nice!
This was our 3rd time as a family (I think my 5th time in my life?) and for the very first time the food was actually really good!!!
Pumpkin and bat-shaped sopapillas!! Ha!
After we finished dinner we walked around for a bit.
The entertainers went on strike the day of our reservation so we got free drinks, free $10 game cards, free desserts, and more. It was awesome!
It's HALLOWEEN!!!
One of our neighbor's goes all out.
I asked Fox & Jane to put their costumes on so I could get their photos before Trick-or-Treating but then after I took said photos Jane said she didn't want to go and so I told Fox he could go with his friends.
I may or may not have started crying and consoled myself with a Twix and Peanut Butter Cup. I'm so sad that my kids are all grown up, it happened too fast. While Chris passed out candy I got in bed, read, and watched Selling Sunset Season 9. I wonder if we'll even get costumes next year?? At least Fox had a lot of fun trick-or-treating with this friends!

Amy & Sandy are still the gosh derned cutest and bestest cats :)
Amy peeking out from the Hocus Pocus Lego and I spy Sandy sitting pretty in the background.
Jane is my replacement when I'm gone. Purrfect Amy throughout October 2025.
Saaaaandy up to no good lol.
She's the biggest fluffiest sweetest floof.
I would check in on the girls when I was out of town and was happy when they were both in the same camera view.

Onto scrappy time!
Throughout October I shared (7) 12x12 layouts, (2) double-page spreads, and a 4x4 mini album. Most of them were made last year using my Tricks & Treats collection for various classes/events so I held onto them for a year until they were back in season. Click on the links to take you to each post for all the details and to read more about these projects:
Every year I take out my October 4x4 mini albums from the pink cupboard and snap a photo. Love seeing this collection grow!
After seeing the mixed media Sarah Millerhouse added to her intro page of the Halloween mini album I taught at Crafting Through the Holidays I decided to add some too! Love how it shimmers & shines.
I have Halloween 4x4 sequin mini albums available for pre-order in my shop HERE.
The purchase of the Halloween 4x4 sequin mini album pre-order includes access to my Halloween 4x4 Mini Album Class PDF which is 38 pages of photos, instructions, supplies, photo sizes, and more, filling the album with the Spooky Things collection by Simple Stories!
I have not yet filled my October 4x4 Mini Album for 2025. I may or may not use this album as the base... I don't think I'll work on it until October 2026 so I've got a while to decide.
I have so many albums now I've started to stack then on their sides for safekeeping until next year!
October 6th was the last day I was able to work on my Hard Candy Christmas kit & class before having to travel and move onto other more pressing assignments and deadlines.
I have really enjoyed creating the foundation pages.
It's coming along!
Ribbons & trims selected.
Figuring out which ribbons & trims to add to which pages.
Ribbons & trims sewn in place! Now it's just a matter of finishing up my sample, filming it, creating the kits, and putting it up for sale. Really really really hoping to release it within a couple weeks.
October 8th-12th I was in Conroe, Texas teaching at the Crafting Through the Holidays event alongside Vicki Boutin & Layle Koncar. Read the recap HERE.
October 16th-19th we were at Disneyland! Read the recap HERE.
October 23rd-26th I was in Brookfield, Wisconsin teaching at She Loves Color. Read the recap HERE.
Needless to say, it felt like I was gone more than I was home in October which was a bit stressful when it comes to planning, staying on track with my diet & lifting regime, and creating for ME.
When I got back from teaching at She Loves Color I whipped out my class projects for Scrap & Learn Festive Edition with Andrea Lake, Celes Gonzalo, Gloria Parra and guest instructors Paige Evans (that's me!), Becki Adams, Valeska Gilmares and Sophie Delorme. Register for virtual access HERE and see you LIVE online in just two weeks!
After creating my 4 layouts for Scrap & Learn Festive Edition I created 8 layouts with my brand new VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS collection with Pinkfresh Studio! They're heading to scrapbookcom headquarters to be featured during an upcoming Tuesday live! I'll start sharing them here soon :)
I did a live unboxing of my VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS collection with Pinkfresh Studio! Watch the replay below.
OFF TO WORK ON MY OWN KITS & CLASSES AT LONG LAST! I haven't released a new kit & class since July 1st - the wooden cassette mini album which I physically made in June so it's been about 5 months. Yes Happy Haven Virtual Weekend with kits was in the mix, but that was a combined effort so I'm not counting it lol. I'm planning a Christmas-themed 6x8" window sequin album with the Hard Candy Christmas collection by Simple Stories, an ugly sweater sequin album with my Very Merry Christmas collection, and a fall-themed micro sequin mini album. To be on my "first to know when these kits & classes are available" list, send me an email and let me know you want to be notified!
Here's to a wonderful November!
