Wooden Cassette Tape Mini Album by Paige Evans

I have always loved listening to music and going to concerts, so I wanted a unique album to document going to see one of our favorite bands several times last year - that’s where the idea for these wooden cassette covers was born! I used the Cedar House collection by American Crafts to create the pages and fill the album with memories and this collection is a bit darker and moodier collection than I usually create with which is always a fun challenge! Plus this collection has several music motifs throughout which is absolutely perfect for documenting concerts.

I designed the cassette tapes and then Jessica from Color Cast Designs cut them out from wood. They smell so good lol. Here is a quick flip through to see the album in action:

This wooden cassette mini album is 7x5", features 19 spreads, a 2 hour & 41 minute video tutorial, and fun techniques to document all things music! PLEASE NOTE: an electronic cutting machine is not required since there are templates for tracing and cutting the pages included in the download, however, a machine comes in very handy to create the shaped pages with or without the optional stitching holes. 

Each pair of wooden cassette covers has its own unique grain direction and coloring making them stunning and special!

There are 3 sets of waterfall pages which is perfect for the 3 concerts. We actually just saw RCD again a few weeks ago so I need to add another set of pages!

I left the back blank to fully appreciate the wooden cassettes!

I don't think my kids even know what a cassette tape is lol. I can't remember the last time I even played one... maybe 1997? Crazy how far technology has come! Maybe next I'll make an iPod-shaped wooden cover? I got my 1st iPod in 2002 after going halvsies with my dad in exchange for me learning Morse Code for my Senior Project. Back then they were chunky devices and it cost a whopping $500! I actually still have it in my drawer. I wonder if it still works? Now everything is just digital downloads. Anyway, there's a little factoid about me for the day!

Summer Sunsets Layout by Phil Donahue

Hello scrappy friends! Phil Donahue here back on Paige's blog with an end-of-summer layout featuring her amazing Adventurous collection along with her SUMMER cut file. This layout features a gorgeous photo of my niece and her father captured during a beach walk right as the sunset and here's how I made it!

To begin, I resized the SUMMER cut file to about a 9x9 shape then cut it out from white cardstock. Next, I backed the cut file with Paper 15. I love the ombre pattern backing the cut file because it beautifully mimics the colors of a sunset. Next, I layered papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad behind the photo and adhered it to the center of the cut file. After, I added foam adhesive to the back of the cut file and placed it on the center of Paper 23 from the 12x12 Project Pad. The diagonal florals and gold foiling on the main background draws the eye directly to the photo. Next, I added gold mini Thickers to complete the title along with phrases from the Cardstock Stickers to accent the theme of the photo. Final touches were sprinkles of enamel dots, Floral Die Cuts, and tufts of muted yellow thread along the same diagonal of the main background to complete the page! Lovely Memories Layout by Monique Lowe

Hi creative friends! Monique Lowe here sharing a fun new layout made with Happy Haven which started with just one paper from the 12x12 Project Pad and grew from there to become a beautiful page of colorful patterned mini squares!

I started by cutting the squares from the paper in the 12x12 Project Pad apart and picked out seven favorites in rainbow colors. After distressing the edges and curling them up a bit, I lined them across the middle of a sheet of white mixed media cardstock. Before sticking them down, I added soft watercolors underneath - just enough to let the colors blend and peek out behind each square. Once the rainbow row was ready, I tucked in a few Journaling Die Cuts tone-on-tone for extra pops of detail. Above that, I layered a torn strip of patterned paper with a smaller floral piece, both from the 12x12 Project Pad, for extra texture and interest! I backed my two photos with Paper 9 and Paper 6 (with torn edges for texture), then I placed them together right in the center of my layout. To finish things off, I built three little clusters around my photos using Foam Stickers, Cardstock Stickers, and Floral Die Cuts. Then came the title with word stickers from the 12x12 Project Pad and a sprinkle of Mini Puffy Stickers - because you can never have too many finishing touches! And that was it! A colorful, happy page that came together so easily once those rainbow squares set the tone. Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you feel inspired to get creating with Happy Haven too!

WONDERFUL Layout by Paige Evans

Here is one of the layouts that I taught how to create at our in-person Lovely Lane Weekend Event and you can still purchase access to the virtual event which includes all instructions and cut files needed to make this layout (plus 8 more layouts and two mini albums) HERE.

I had my Cricut cut out the WONDERFUL letters with the stitching holes and then did a backstitch with white thread. A light purple cardstock background allows the letters to POP and be the star of the show.

 I tucked a photo under the "L" and "O" then embellished with fussy cut flowers and a few rub-ons. Journaling was written inside the the "D". That about does it

Enjoy Every Moment Layout by Jackie Ashton

Hello! Jackie Ashton here today sharing a layout using Paige's Happy Haven collection!

I started by selecting 5 different patterned papers from the 12x12 Project Pad and cut them into 3x4” block. I used a journaling card from the cut apart paper as my 6th block. I added these 6 pieces onto a white cardstock background to form a grid in the center of the page, leaving a slight gap between each piece. I added some layers of patterned papers behind my photograph, which I printed at 4x4”, leaving a slight border around the photograph with each layer. I embellished my layout using the Floral Die Cuts and the title is from the 12x12 Project Pad. I love how this layout came together and hope it inspires you to check out Paige's Happy Haven collection!

Back to School Memories Layout by Inessa Persekian

Hey friends! Inessa Persekian here with a new layout using Paige's Happy Haven collection which was the perfect choice to document my kids’ back-to-school photos. They just started school on the 12th and I wanted a design that felt bright and fun!

For the base, I mainly worked with the 12x12 Project Pad, layering in papers and stickers. I used Paper 2 to frame out my 4x4 photo, bringing in the classic graph paper look but colorful. From there, I added a mix of stickers from the Cardstock Stickers, along with Floral Die Cuts and Journaling Die Cuts. One of my favorite details is all the flowers. To give them life and dimension, I folded the petals and stems and used different adhesives to layer them. This simple trick added so much depth, making the whole page feel fresh and textured. I love how this layout came together - it’s a perfect mix of summer joy and back-to-school memories, all wrapped up in Paige’s stunning Happy Haven collection.

Make Today Magical (Spiderweb) Layout by Paige Evans

Is it too early to start sharing Halloween pages? Asking for a friend... 👻🕷🕸🎃

I made this page for Tricks & Treats Weekend last fall featuring a spiderweb cut file partially backed with patterned paper scraps. 

Now I'm counting down the days until October 1st when I "deck the halls"!

Ice Cream Layout by Audrey Mutschall

Hello friends! Audrey Mutschall here with a new layout featuring Paige’s fabulous Adventurous collection and her Ice Cream Trio from her bundle of 20 Summer Cut Files 2020.

To start, I cut the Ice Cream Trio from white cardstock and then backed them with a variety of patterned papers from the 12x2 Paper Pad. I chose white cardstock for the background and scored it to resemble a tiled wall. Next, I added a strip of grid Paper 10 at the bottom of the layout, along with a hearts paper border from one of the branding strips. After I arranged my ice cream designs along the bottom of the layout I decided that I needed something fun at the top of the page, so I drew and cut out a border that looks like dripping ice cream. I used confetti Paper 8 for this and I think it adds a really fun element to the page. Next, I matted my photo with pink checkered paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad and then embellished with Floral Die Cuts, stickers from the 12x12 Project Pad, fussy cut butterflies from Paper 19, and Enamel Dots. I had so much fun making this layout and I hope it inspires you to check out Paige’s Adventurous collection and her amazing bundle of 20 Summer Cut Files 2020.
