Stacked Suitcases Layout by Paige Evans

Hi everyone! I have a new layout and process video to share with you today! I am collaborating with Claire Murphy, aka Scrappy Nerd UK to show how to use my Stacked Suitcases cut file along with Wonders!

Here is the process video showing how to create this layout from start-to-finish:
To begin, I die cut my Stacked Suitcases cut file from textured brown cardstock - I think this might be the first time I've ever cut from not white or black cardstock! At least that I can remember... Once I had the image cut out, I figured out which patterned papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad I wanted to feature. I spent some time in Silhouette Studio creating the backing pieces, cutting patterned papers to fit, and then had the machine cut them out.
Then it was simply a matter of gluing the backing pieces onto the cut file which took about a half hour. Fun fun fun! Love the look of backed cut files, even after doing this same technique probably hundreds of times :) It's still always looks awesome!!
I chose the blue tiles Paper 3 for my background and to tone it down a tad since it was so busy I brushed over it with white gesso. Then I came in with my Sunburst Rays Stencil and used three colors of Shimmerz texture paste to scrape through the stencil and create another layer of fun. Next I added the cut file on top and tucked in two photos to the right side.
I added the title "OFF WE GO" with Thickers, wrote journaling on a mandala journaling spot from the Ephemera Die Cuts, slid two pennant Cardstock Stickers underneath, and finished with a trio of heart Chipboard Stickers.
I hope this layout inspires you to try my Stacked Suitcases cut file paired with Wonders and do be sure to check out Claire's version over on her YouTube channel! Thanks for stopping by! See you again soon!
