Hello & Goodbye Layout by Paige Evans

Guess what?! I have a new layout WITH A PROCESS VIDEO to share with you today! 4 months flew by since my last how-to video! I hope to make more, more frequently :)

Here is the process video, woohoo!:
To begin, I pulled all 18 different squares of patterns from the 2x2 Paper Pads and then snipped them from corner to center - be careful not to trim all the way to the middle or you'll end up with triangles, so leave about 1/4" to a 1/2" of uncut space.
Fold every other corner to the center and secure the points in the middle with a button Chipboard Sticker or Embossed Puffy Sticker. I used liquid glue to secure the buttons in place for good. Repeat for all 18 papers to make 18 pinwheels. I actually only ended up making 15 of them - 3 got left out.
On the navy striped B-side of Paper 13, add line of white gesso from corner to corner then smush and blend into the background with a brush and your hands to create a smoky background. If you don't have my Star Confetti stencil, create a template from my Star Confetti cut file and scrape white modeling paste through all over the gessoed background to create another layer of texture and interest.
Add yet another layer of fun by splashing watercolors over the stenciled stars! I used my two favorite sets of watercolors by Prima: Pastel Dreams and Tropicals. Once everything dried, I placed the pinwheels on top, attached them permanently in place with liquid glue, and added two 3x4" photos to the bottom right area.
Time for the title, embellishing, and journaling! The title is "HELLO & GOODBYE" made with Foam Phrase StickersThickers, and the 8-Page Sticker Book. Then I pulled in lots of icons that fit with a school theme - apples and books and plants Cardstock Stickers, a house Ephemera Die Cut that kind of looks like an old schoolhouse, and a bird Paper Clip. To finish I wrote journaling with a black pen under the photos.
I hope this layout inspires you to use those 2x2 Paper Pads that you've been collecting and turn them into tiny pinwheels - they make such fun embellishments! Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again sooner rather than later with another process video!

  1. I really enjoyed watching yesterday! Such a fab idea for the 2x2's or even scraps from projects! I just organized allllll of mine into zippered envelopes. One envelope for each collection. A nice side effect of the Bundle projects, ha! 💛
