The One with Planning Our 2011 Christmas Card

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

This year will be our third Christmas card! They might go out a little late, but better late than never! Here's the pic from our last two Christmas cards:

Christmas 2009. Joey was our baby.

Christmas 2010. Evans family of 3!

Which brings us to Christmas 2011. No photo yet! Our photoshoot is on Saturday with the uber talented Megan Papworth. It's happening, rain or shine, with or without Chris (whose finals and patient schedule keep gettin' in the way!) I'm so excited about getting our pictures taken together as a family professionally. It's been over a year!

And then there's the matter of picking a Christmas card... Do I go the pre-made route? Here are some of my favorites from tinyprints.com:

Pre-made Christmas cards aren't super cheap. So do I design my own and get them printed at Costco? I could probably easily replicate or use any of these as inspiration... Or if I want to be really ambitious I could make Christmas cards from scratch using scrapbooking supplies... Those would be free cuz I already have all the supplies, but it would require lots of precious time. Lots to think over, so stay tuned!

  3. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that we have never had a family photo taken!! And try as I might to get a photo of two kiddos for the Christmas card...no luck. So it ended up being 2 random photos that I made black and white!! Love all your choices!

  4. Make it in PhotoShop and get it printed... then you only pay like $0.12 per photo! ;-)

Or... make it in PhotoShop and get *postcards* printed from VistaPrint. SUPER cheap. Then you don't have to pay for a card or an envelope. ;-)

  12. I think you should do a 3-D one like you fingers in the coffin...how about santa's beard in a jar or candy canes in the mouth of a snapping turtle! (I've been watchin Nightmare before Christmas!)

  22. I remember when Joey was such a pest. I think Gypsy has taken over the job of being the pestiest dog on the planet.
